Alliance dont have to walk through barrens to get to Stonetalon. Theres a tunnel in Ashenvale that takes you about midway through Stonetalon.

Actually only ever found out about it in Cataclysm. Cataclysm had made an actual "highway" to get there, but I also found that tunnel afterwards. Always wondered if it had always been there.

Back in Vanilla, I was playing my NE Hunter on Laughing Skull(PvP)[Still my server to this day]. I had no idea what I was getting into. It was one of my first introductions to wPvP on such a scale. There was a Troll Rogue who had ganked me. Over, and over, and over again. So I logged, did some chores, homework, what have you. Logged back on a a little later (Maybe 2 hours?), Rezzed and with in 5 minutes. That same MF'r troll ganked me again. I asked over Chat for someone to come help me with this rogue. Who answers my call? Leeroy freakin' Jenkins. (Yes, thee Leeroy.). Not only is that video the big reason I decided to play WoW, I didn't know I rolled onto his server. He got me free, gave me some buffs, and I went on my way. STV will always be a wonderful memory in my head. (Until I get ganked again. Freakin' rogues!)

@@JilaX 6/8 tier 2 mage here. Never played caster and i love the way of mage. Been a melee always. And u do need to combine cds with nightfall procs. Dont use the t2 fir raiding but farming mara for boosting xp getting a good challenge pulling 200+mobs and the chsllenge witj boosting people in sm 1 pull. Its many good ways of challenge the mage innraid by popping all consumes having almost 700 sp and doing 12k crits on chrommy. There are many fun things in bwl too aoeing the goblins as 2man team. Not even pressing frostbolts whole raid as people say. Its way more.

I remember back in the day playing in vanilla leveling my ass off and every time I was HS-ing back in SW trade district inn after a looooong day of leveling (doing like half a level maybe), I was always seeing this EPIC LVL 60 PALADIN in full t3 AFK-ing on his charger near the old AH entrance. And just when I was about to quit this game, after HS-ing back to SW every time and seeing him after a fucking long day of grinding it would just motivate me to log back again tomorrow and start the hustle again so one day I will be the ONE AFK-ing near the AH entrance in full t3 on my charger ( i was a pally as well) .Hehe, nostalgia really hits hard :)) gg nixxiom. If you're familiar with the quests that are out there, there are plenty enough of them. I find that too many of my quests go grey before I can complete them. But you do have to have the patience to run around the world to complete a lot of them.

You're right, it's not hard. With overtuned AF talents, much better gear than existed at the time, with 120+ fps instead of 20 and 40 ping instead of 150+.

@@JilaX Well, even if you take away all those Classic modifications, you are left with - what? Ebonroc? Taunt when you have debuff and you win. Broodlord? Don't overaggro and you win, etc. I am by no means bashing on Classic, at all - but I think the difficult thing in the game is more about keeping 40-ish people engaged and farm consumables for every raid. Which, to be fair, can be quite challenging on its own right.

ive leveled countless characters in classic back in the day, on private servers and now in the rerelease, and i've never felt the need to grind for xp.. what a lot of newer player may not realize is that for most of the level zones (say 12-20) there are 3 different zones PER faction. So as alliance you may go to westfall but then quests turn orange and red.. take the tram to IF and move to loch modan and you have hole other 12-20 zone.. and if THAT is not enough travel to menethil harbor, take a boat to darkshore and you got yet another one.. the trick in the end becomes efficient routes to getting it done fast. but number of quests isnt really an issue, if you know your options.

I had fun with the wetlands run since I treated it like a stealth mission where I had to avoid orc patrols, crocolisks and giant spiders. Managed to survive the whole thing (mainly because another player ran brazenly through the gate and got orc'd. Your sacrifice was not in vain)

Thank god that's no longer a thing though. But that was my first thought for the vid. OH and back when Nixx ran the Gravediggers "Let's go kill Nixx" on ZT alliance. Raids from his guild and against him were the bread and butter the first few weeks of the game. Good times.

CC (Crowd Control) and Pulling for dungeon runs were both fun and frustrating. When you stack the group cc right and the timing is perfect, it is a good feeling to see it all be executed properly. But it is a shitstorm when it goes wrong or you just can't get the right class/CC for a dungeon. I played a prot warr and loved running dungeons for fun, to get rare loots and to help people gear/lvl up or get quests done for something... the pulls were always fun and could be tricky in certain dungeons with alot of mobs that needed kiting and certain cc setup. I had to custom pick the classes in my group to match the CC or mob type for that specific dungeon, so with most dungeons they were humanoid so rogue mage sap/sheep was always useful, but it had demon or elem types then a lock for banish. The hunter ice trap was also pretty good and worked on alot of diff mob types but could be tricky to pull off with the setup and kitings and stuff. And Druids had a couple good ones, there was cyclone, roots on a melee enemy, and that hibernate spell for beasts. I would always try to keep the group diverse, mix of pure and hybrid classes, cc (or not), armor types ect. IT was great and I got alot of friends from spending 1+ hour waiting to form the perfect group to run a dungeon and having smooth runs, gettin props for my pulls. It was a cool experience.

I really don´t know why you always act like retail is all about dungeon finder/LFR and classify retail as "easy mode". In fact, as you know, dungeon finder/LFR is not a part of endgame at all. Someone whos playing more than 2 hours a week is going to do m+. M+ does not have a dungeon finder and requires infitly more skill/coordination than any dungeon in classic. In fact, you can do any dungeon in classic without ever going into a voicecall. Good luck doing that with high M+. LFR drops gear equal to world quests, some do that shit maybe once if they come back after a break, but they will outgear that content in a few hours. Higher difficutlies, espacially mythic, dont have any finder and obviously require a coordinated group. And again, mythic raids are obviosuly infitly amount more complex than any classic raid. So im not sure why you pick out 2 beginner tools(dungeon finder/LFR) and act like thats what retail is about. I´m not saying that retail is just straight up better than classic. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Just pls dont show retail in a false light.

You don't ever have to be in a city to form a group. trade? general? just do /who ??(1-60) and send whispers, Most people dont pay attention to, or see their chat moving, but they are very likely to see a whisper, and if they are afk will see it when they com back. It also makes it easier to form specific comps you want to play with. Forming groups is relatively fast, especially when you whisper someone directly.

When my friend back in the day, my friend at the time help me get my first mount. He sold mining minerals, and boom got my first mount, I was blown away by the help. That will always stick with me. Friendship back then ran tight

Best way to level : 1. Get Ony buff 2. Log out for a few days. 3. Enjoy life. 4. Log in, kill mobs while you have rested XP bonus. 5. Go to step 1.

I was an altaholic and did the Wetlands run when it was current then in WoW: Classic somebody told of a way to get to Menthil Harbor by running through the mountains and dying in a specific place so you can spirit rez at Menthil Harbor gy where it's a hop, skip and jump to there. Also, so long as i go there by lvl 10 there's no rez sickness to worry about

Being an altaholic (since 2005), I have hit max levels in many scenarios and recalling would be moot as I am 51. I do recall the first 60 in classic wow of recent and it was my lock Voodoodaddy hitting 60 as I turned in my quest for killing Onyxia and that was freaking perfect.

It’s painfully clear you aren’t playing Classic all that much and just basing these observations on your past experience back in the day. Classic is very different. Everyone is in LFG channel. Groups form rather quickly. Everyone is grinding dungeons to level. Often paying 60s to carry them.

Oh man... To number 5: i was like lvl 35 on my priest and i saw a 60 priest by the stormwind fountain with benediction and i started telling him about how i created this character with the goal of getting that and we started talking and he ends up inviting me to his guild and offering me a raid spot at 60. Im still raiding with them now and i just got benediction last night XD. To number 10: this pvp stort starts off as most do... With me being camped on my hunter by a bunch of alliance for a half hour at nessingwary camp. However, they eventually got bored and went their own seperate ways. When they did i camped my ass on a ridge, started casting eagle eye through the jungle, and tracked them all down 1 by 1 and killed them... It felt sooooo good. Also you forgot to mention while talking about the wetlands run.... Alliance running to scarlet monastery for the first time. Horde just jump on a zepp or walk outta uc, but alliance... Take the tram to ironforge, walk through dun morogh, loch modan, wetlands, arathi, hillsbrad, silverpine, and tirisfal in horde territory. Even when you get the southshore fp its still a few zones of walking.

Nixxiom, you don't have to go to the barrens to get to stonetalon as alliance. There's a cave from ashenvale to stonetalon. It's still a hassle to get the flight path, and you'll likely never fly to it again, but no barrens at least.

I can say for a fact that the second thing on this list is incorrect, I leveled multiple 60s, as long as you're doing the dungeons once(for the quests) and you don't skip quests/zones, you will 100% hit 60 before running out of quests or HAVE to grind.

Consumables? Once I survived for hours grinding in West Plague Lands with no food or healing potions , only random cloth drops for first aid and race spells. Forsaken master race !

#11 - Alliance having a cooking recipe vendor in Stormwind and the Horde having to travel to 5 zones and both continents to get recipes to get to the same damn cooking level!! Blizzard has an Alliance BIAS, Screw You Blizz!!

There a passageway south of ashenvale that leads directly into stonetalen mountains the stonetalen pass, idk why you would ever go to the barrens first hahah

Things I remember from vanilla.... 1. 8 hours a day for months of WSG flag running to get warlord only to be out no lifed by jimbob no lifer who got high warlord. 2. Getting my arc reaper and feeling godly. 3. Getting hand of rag and praying to the wind fury gods to get some procs in pvp

You forgot to mention that as a mage one bigger ways to earn coin besides grinding mobs; is to provide portal and refreshment services as a vendor. I earned *lots* of gold even during burning crusade to provide portals to people. So, farkeldipple

My prot warrior was always poor. I couldn't get my mount until almost level 50. When Classic came out, my only goal was to bank enough to get it 40.

Wouldn't agree with the point of having too few quests. Every time I level a new char, I keep abandoning green quests while leveling, because there are several zones for each level span. Even at 55-59, you got winterspring, Plaguelands, dungeon quests, alterac valley quests. There are always a lot of them.

There are plenty of quests. You just have to go everywhere your faction gives quests to do it

I did not spamm dungeons at all, only leveled through questing. Yet, i never EVER ran out of quests! I even dinged lvl 60, and still had the whole plaguelands (both) filled with quests to do.... i really don't know how can people run out of quests.

I remember being stuck for a few days with my Undead Rogue because I had completed certain chain quests and I just couldnt find any other way to level so I went to the end of Silverpine Forest and just start killing Wolves and Wolverines. EDIT: Then I found out I can use RDF ( I play on private LK server ) But anyway, I could relay to few things and that made me happy.
