This MMO isn't necessarily for everyone, but I hope this list gives you all at least one reason to give it a shot, if you haven't done so already. A few friends and I are currently leveling new characters on the Angmar server. If you ever see Beohelm walking along the path, feel free to say hello! 🎉Also, a big shout out to our Channel Members who help make the content possible: tinyurl.com/5n738rsb

i just started playing and i cant believe how incredible the game is! Im 70 hours in and honestly never experienced anything like it in my 30 years of gaming. The attention to the lore and the MASSIVE WORLD are astounding. Being able to explore every inch of middle earth is overwhelmingly cool. The willingness to be different from the status quo is admirable. The community is warm, helpful and welcoming, and the writing is top notch. Already some of my favorite gaming experiences ive EVER HAD are in this game, and ive barely scratched the surface. A MUST PLAY.

I feel exactly the same - I started a few months ago and I am absolutely blown away by the game haha. You said it all, The vastness of it, the detail, the storylines, even the crafting is very fun. I have owned the game since it launched and never gave it much a chance / had time for it until recently and I am kicking myself for not getting into it way sooner haha. It’s incredible. My brother and I pick this game up once in a while, we're both Hobbits, a warden and a minstrel. Cozy game for sure, very much encouraging you to take your time and enjoying it. Another thing that really stands out is the community to me. I am an absolute noob, and I wanted this sleeping kitten furniture in my house. I tried to make some gold and buy it from the auction house, but I couldn't make the amount of money. I asked the guy if I could get it for a bit cheaper. The guy gave me it for free and told me to pass it on when I was making better money and a noobie needed help. It's not the only positive encounter, people are very willing to help or group up. Anyway, good game, a joy to play for sure

I’ve been playing WoW since Vanilla (though I mostly skipped the expansions after MoP and spent a lot of time on Vanilla and BC private servers). Back at release, I gave LOTRO a shot, but only for about half an hour. To be honest, it didn’t leave much of an impression compared to WoW, and I never touched it again. That said, I feel like I’d appreciate it a lot more now and should give it another try. I didn’t even realize there are still servers running!

As someone who just started playing this game a couple weeks ago, I can say im floored by the beauty of the environments. The feeling of being in THE SHIRE next to BAG END is just amazing for a hardcore fan of the books and movies BUT I could not get past the terrible server lag! Its so god awful that I gave up most combat. If this issue will ever be fixed this would be an easy epic recommend but dang man...that constant server / network lag lasting 1-2 seconds every 10 seconds makes the game feel like what it is, just a game. Rubberbanding npcs and other players pulls me out of the immersion so quick. Going to try and keep sticking with it but that combat is just so awful with this amount of lag i dont know how i can fully get into the harder stuff.

I like your formatting in this video, especially with the timestamps. It isn't super vanilla in your reviewing, but rather brought about with unique reasoning as to which (perhaps, subtle or looked over) reasons you enjoyed the game. It wasn't just reviewing the typical MMO-tropes and grading those, but finding the charm in the game that most wouldn't care much about at first glance and highlighting those in a way that makes those very reasons shine and stand out from some modern=day MMO's.

@@SilenceTV1 awesome that you are enjoying the game 😎 last time I remembered. All you need to do is use some of the lotro points you earned from deeds(lotro version of achievements) at the lotro store to become a premium player and your inventory problem should go away. Sorry for that. It is just the botting was nuts back in the day that the developers had to set limits for free to play players. Think of ftp as a captacha to verify you are human and you become a premium player because the game verified you are human.

@@morrowoblivion13 I did see where you could spend loto coins on 5 extra slots at 325 coins per 5 slots. So I should be able to afford 5 more slots to my inventory in 2 weeks or so. The deeds are 5 coins per completion. I am more than happy to spend money on games I like, however I would like to know if the game is fun and if I will spend time playing it before I spend my money. I had fun for half of the time I played the rest was annoyed at mainly the inventory. Seems like there could be a better way. I just figure the game probably isn't for someone like me.

There are some LOTR Games coming in 2025 & beyond. Amazon Games will have a LOTR MMORPG sometime in the future, this is not the "Cancelled" one but a new project as they were a 3rd Party to the cancelled one.

Long time WoW player here. Trying LOTRO was one of the best decisions i've ever made regarding mmos. Feels so fresh, and the scenery, the quests, everything is so unique. Also, community is amazing. The only problems i have with lotro are: Interface sucks, for real. It should have a rework on it, would save the whole UI/UX of the game.

I grew up hearing about this adventure and the people you meet in WoW but I was too young to be apart of that version of wow and its sad that I missed it. I'm gonna give this game a try because it sounds like that adventure I missed, even if it looks a little dated, I can't wait to jump in!

Fantastic video, great editing, great footage, great script! LOTRO is something I've wanted to experience over the years and tried to get into it several times (usually fizzling out after a few levels). But seeing your video gave me new inspiration. Cool to know it's still worth playing!

The only thing this game is aknowledging this game to the players who doesn't know it yet and that it misses players ! Otherwise, hands off to this game, it can be housing, music, exploring quests, writing, playing instruments, respect of the lore, PvE, PvP, ... This game is massively astounding, I love it since 2007, day one. Please guys, come back home.

I started playing this again a few weeks ago. My dwarf guardian is very fun. I've also enjoyed minstrel, loremaster, and runekeeper quite a bit. I love the exploration and the lore. The combat's not bad either. I love how friendly the community is.

I wish they would upgrade their textures and combat animations but I digress. How is the population though? That game requires grouping and my guild didn't want to play it so I tried it on my own when it came out. Its very slow if you don't have people to group with. I eventually got bored and tried some monster content (THAT was fun) but eventually players avoided the area that the monster players spawned into. I don't know how it is now but alot of classes and stuff started getting locked behind paywalls and I slowly just quit playing it. I loved it, ESPECIALLY the musical instruments but the low res textures and VERY slow combat tired me out. I may try it again because its been at least 6 or 7 years since I touched it.

We have upcoming 4 New 64-bit Servers (2 US & 2 EU) so eventually we'll have "more Players per Server" for these servers. That will help with how many players are available to do things. Visuals Updates are ongoing. Animations such as Combat "have" gotten a little bit but this is mostly just if a Skill gets adjusted not how each Class does their Combat Animation. Classes didn't "get locked behind paywalls" as there has always been an initial restriction to a New Class either being you get the Expansion or purchase the Class itself. Nothing was "put" into a paywall. They even in April 2022 had a massive Free to Play Update and almost every Class was then available for Free. From then on it was "Expansion" required for a Class then later said Class would be available for LOTRO Points. Textures especially in Lower Level Older Content is still pretty akin, plus the "Graphics" is still the same it's just the Art Style which keeps getting worked on, and Combat is still akin to what it's always been compared to 6 to 7 years ago. So if it "felt" to yourself as "very" slow it probably will still seem like that.

I'm super happy you enjoy the game. I got this game on my 16th birthday when it was first released. I'm happy to see players in your comments attach themselves to this game as I did back then, but this game is a shell of it's former self. The microtransactions and UI are a cluttered mess to try and sell you something constantly. The ability to purchase max level has killed early game/early expansion content. I could be wrong, but i doubt there's enough new player influx to change that. I love this game, please enjoy it, but the early years were much better than described here. It was a social mmo with persistent player base that worked together ala everquest. Now it's a lore tourism simulator that accepts debit/credit to expedite to max level. Enjoy the game, I hope you pioneers keep it surviving, but it's not as advertised here. I'd like to see a full player base count because this is not my experience from recent lotro. The biggest strata of the current pop is rerolling characters to max and raiding. Loved the video, but this is my counter to prospective buyers
