And even though most of us haven't been within a hundred miles of Scotland in the last 300 years, we can't pronounce "LY' or "RY' words easily. I tend to repeat those syllables at the end of the word when I try to say them. Our mouths are just not meant to say those words. And I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Mohnday....I think everyone pronounces it Munday. Kind of like Wednesday. The only way I can spell it is to think: "Wed-Ness_Day", but no one says it like that. Have a good day, Tam! Guess it's getting to that time of the month again. Stock up on the coffee and chocolate!

Loved it! When your mouth is trained from birth to pronounce certain letters and combinations of letters in certain ways it’s next to impossible to undue that conditioning. But it’s fun to see you try! Sometimes when the people of one country mispronounce a word say like the name of a food the whole rest of the world ends up following that example. There are two foods popularized by the Japanese that are originally Chinese foods Jiaozi and La Mian The Japanese couldn’t get their tongues around Jiaozi (pronounced Gee-ow- Zi) and we end up with Gyoza 🥟 instead. With the Japanese tendency to mix up the pronunciations of Ls and Rs, La Mian ended up as Ramen to the rest of the world. There are other dishes who’s names got messed up in the US but you get my point. Pronunciation can be important Great video as always !
