When I was in school and college.. Most of my friends didn't believe I'm Assamese.. They thought I'm from Punjab or Haryana or UP or Bihar so n so.. just because my Hindi and English accent is far better than of theirs and my sharp facial features.. 😣😣 but the fact is, northeast is the richest zone in India.. We r rich in resources, music nd culture, food, nature, hospitality, beauty etc etc.. But some people don't have Tym enough to see this.. They only make fun of our appearance, food etc.. Bacchu ek baar yaha aa or ek mahina bita tab realise hoga ki janmo se tum Kya underestimate kar rahe the.. Wapas jaane ka pachtawa zindagi bhar rahega 😄😄

Being a northeastern ain't easy, almost everyday and everywhere I go I'm always asked where I'm from, Are you from China, etc. There are people who knows about it but 90% still ask me where is northeast...... When I say I'm from Nagaland they'll be like it must be out of India. Racism is a major issue in every part of India coz I have faced many difficult situation as I travel a lot, I got people saying ( ISKO MARNE SE BHI KUCH CASE NAHI HOGA ) which really hurt me bad and yet I ignored. Met amazing people & at the same time met some of the worst of the worst........ Been staying in Mumbai for 8yrs now and it's been quite a journey. Though I'm happy I got to experience all this.........

I still remember an incident where an Assamese elder student was beaten with wood from a small construction site in the streets of Kota just because he had little asian facial features. He wanted to file FIR but no one supported him!🙁 Being from Assam, I was very upset I wasn't present at the situation, though I met him later and gave him medicines. I really pray that Indians change their mindset soon else we all can't live in peace!🙁

Well I have a funny story to share. Two weeks before I went for a job interview in vistara airline. The interviewer was a lady from Delhi and the moment I entered the room she just looked at me and said oh you're a northeastern so say something in Hindi. I passed a smile to her then I told her the full story of 3 idiots movie in a proper shudh desi Hindi. Her reaction was funny after that because unka muh khula ka khula reh gaya. But she was really nice and we became like good friends in a couple of moment. The thing is racism happens but it's not because of caste or religion but because of the difference between good people and bad people in the society. I'm a northeastern, I'm a manipuri, born and brought up in a Bengali neighborhood in Assam state, studied in Bangalore and have a gf from Delhi and friends from all over the country and can speak manipuri, Assamese, bengali, Hindi, a little Kannada and I love my country and will do my best for a better future of this nation.

I have been living in Ahmadabad from last 3 years. On 14th January 2016, I went to Kite festival with my uncle and aunty. Than suddenly two guys came to me and they asked me to take a selfie along with them. That time I was so embarrassed with their behaviour and I asked them what's the reason?? Why do I need to take a selfie with them?? Than they replied me that they had a nonsense thought in their mind that I was from China. It was just an unexpected thing which happened to me in 2016. People are still in dark, they have less knowledge about their own country. I think people who all belong from northeastern states they have good knowledge about their own country. After coming to Kerela I was really shocked when they asked me if I was from China... Other Indians have very poor knowledge about india itself... They even haven't heard of our states .where as we learnt about at least all the Indian states from like in 4th standard .. And they don't even know about Northeastern states.. Some asked if I was from North india as I could speak hindi... I really feel sad to say this but are we really different..are not we Indians too?? Why can't they respect our culture like we respect theirs...?? It hurts a lot to be called a Japanese or Chinese being an Indian....

I am from UP but i am obsessed with North East,such a heaven on Earth,so beautiful and alluring. High education rate,so clean cities and people are so good and helpful,well mannered,well behaved. I Everytime plan a holiday places like Shillong,Sikkim, Darjeeling, Meghalaya etc comes on my mind. We Indians should be proud of our North East as they don't have Male Dominant society, taboo or dowry cases there. Girls are worshipped there truly. North Easterner are so close to nature,Sikkim,Shillong are the only state in our country who are called as an Organic state of India. My best friend got married to a very handsome and sober guy from Gangtok,7years still somuch in love with each other.there wedding was the most fun part,mixture of cultures and tradition. Guys please stop discriminating and love and respect each other💟💟💟

SO MAYBE IT EXISTS ALL OVER INDIA YOU WALK 50 KM KN THIS COUNTRY AND U LOOK DIFFERENT THAN OTHER PEOPLE. FOR EG. IN NORTHERN PART ALL ARE GENERALLY FAIR AN DIN SOUTH THEY HAVE MELALIN WHICH MAKES THEIR SKIN GLOW. IF U LOOK AT EACH STATE IN EACH STATE PEOPLE LOOK DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER.FOR E.G. ME I HAVE CHUBBY CHEEKS LIKE NE JUST HAVE BIG EYES AND SAME SKIN LIKE NE PEOPLE . BUT I DONT LIVE IN NE BUT LIVE IN JHARKHAND.
