Things that will make you look new to skateboarding
This is not to hate on anyone who does these thing, but to help those not get made fun of when they’re getting into the skate community.
There are tons of pros who grab their board by the trucks and plenty of good skaters that push mongo.
These are just some things that are agreed on as “unpractical” in theskate community or the world of skateboarding.
Skateboarding is just about having fun so don’t stress the small stuff. Hopefully this will help you not get roasted at the skate park though, that’s not fun

Dude these are actually good tips. Bending your knees helps gain balance and control. Mall grabbing your trucks is very bad for them and slowly pull the trucks off the deck. Pushing mongo offers no control or speed and is also just asking to fall. These were good tips and people should listen to them.

Second one is the only useful tip. Bending your knees has a time and place but if I'm cruising there is no feeling better than feeling like I'm floating, and just standing up straight while I move is the best way to do that.

It's literally the best way to hold the board, especially if ur tall 😭😭 it's a good grip, out of the way and by ur side, and the grip tape doesn't do shit to ur pants! The fact that it's the natural way a newbie holds a board goes to show how legit it is

Honestly it's sort of like holding the deck with the grip against you. Gonna shred your pants. It isn't safe, as far as holding your board goes. Can hit your shins, ankles. Just hold graphic to clothing and you're good.

I understand trying to correct Mongo because there are genuine benefits to pushing normal (but there are also a few things Mongo can do better so I never tell anyone they *have* to change). I really don't understand the mall grab thing. I've had people tell me it's to avoid metal splinters, but even on my trucks that I've grinded on a lot it still seems like a really smooth and convenient surface to grab onto. Not sure how it became 'forbidden' or the mark of a noob in the first place What's more, I find holding onto the nose or tail for long periods to be pretty annoying due to the grip tape, im having a hard time imagining someone's trucks could get so crusty that grabbing the deck would actually be smoother
