But braids are, so this comment is nuts. She has curly hair. Her take down is where she went wrong. Gate keeping a style that blacks weren't even wearing in this country until the 70s is nuts

@@ManeThingz the 70s?? Girl your ignorance runs deep. My ancestors were braiding maps into hair during slavery, but go off. U being offended means nothing to me. NOT gatekeeping is 1 of the biggest problem of the blk community.
@cjones2171Ай бұрын
@ManeThingz that's a whole lie! Black women created that style in Africa. Black descendants in the U.S. were not allowed to wear their hair in public when they were slaves. Forcing them to wear a scarf to cover protective hair styles such as braids. It was and will always be a Black, Afro, African, Afro-descendant hair style. It doesn't matter who tries to put their stringy curly hair texture in braids. Because it won't last and it will damage their hair if worn more than a week. Smh!
@ManeThingzАй бұрын
@@cjones2171No they did not. The majority of Black women and men in the United States were straightening, perming and not even wearing natural hairstyles until the 60s and 70s even children. Sometime- after civil rights movements. Slavery of course, we're obviously talking about Post slavery and hairstyles for fashion Not necessity and that went out the door with relaxers and other tools.and straightening combs/ products. Annie Malone a black woman patented the hot comb in 1920.

You should never try to detangler or take out knots with a mask on your hair. You need lots of moisture and conditioner with slip braids are a protective style, but how you take them down will determine if you’re gonna have breakage after the braids and the breakage does not from the braids itself is from you trying to detangle improperly. It takes time you’ll get better after each takedown your final result. hair looks amazing. Good luck.😊

Afro hair are the originators of braids (Africans/Desendants). You clearly dont have the correct hair texture for braids. Having admiration is one thing, but appyling it where it doesn't belong don't make sense.

My hair wasn’t tangled but shed tremendously. Never again.

I’m going through the same thing right now I had neck surgery in February and had my hair braided and now I’m going through treatments to get mine back.

Hold up, why in the world did you leave it in 2 months. Your hair is too thin for that. 1 month at the most with proper washing and conditioning with the proper oils. You shouldn’t use tea tree that’s an antiseptic type of oil for itchy scalp. You are a argan oil hair type. You don’t use enough water either with the masque it’s already half dried out on the most damaged parts and you need protein. You can tell by the last of elasticity in your curls around face framing.

Its your take down 1.Take your braids out with water and conditioner and comb the tangles out/ section individually/twist it and section it out of the way before u start a new section. (The hair that comes out is shed hair and normal.) 2. Get a wide tooth comb and a rat tail comb, tangle comb last and use them in that order.
@NaturalE_staАй бұрын
I don’t know if this helps but whenever I take my braids down I detangle each section as I go, opposed to taking my hair down and then washing and detangling afterwards. So to be clear, I take a braid down and comb it out from the ends to the root and then I move on to the next braid completing the same steps…
@TheChanelnumbr5Ай бұрын
You should always detangle each knot with a very slippery conditioner right after taking the braid out. do not each your hair all at once first, that's how the knots travel down and could take more hair with them.
@MHsame2dayaZystrdayАй бұрын
It also appears you either have UV damage or color to your hair, and that part is the most damaged, so you should have done a deep conditioning with protein before braids. A lot of people don’t know their hair and follow this ABCD1234 system but that’s not what hair is about, it’s really like a caste system when you do it that way. Ditch that mess. It’s about porosity and how quickly your hair gets dehydrated, how easily it hydrates. Low porosity requires heat to put moisture in, but once it’s in it’s in. 1-2 weeks deep condition NO PROTIEN. Only time I’ve ever seen low porosity need protein is after bleach or some type of damage. But even then you don’t want to use too much. It’s only if the bonds are broken. High porosity, no heat needed, protein once a month or 2x if damaged, seal in with either oil, or light conditioner depending on the style. You can also sit under a hooded dryer with it on cold. Does really well with glosses. Low porosity is my favorite because you can change the condition of the hair rather quickly and it holds manual curls way better. My daughter has this. I have high porosity but it’s medium density, my strands aren’t thin more so like a yaki when blown out.
@MHsame2dayaZystrdayАй бұрын
Hair strands that are thin in diameter should not have weave on it that long, the weave strands diameter is thicker and will prevent moisture from getting in. You can not moisturize hair without water, she has high porosity hair which means it dries out fast. You should use water then oil. Low porosity holds moisture in better due to a closed cuticle. Also, I am going to be honest your hair needed protein before the braids because high porosity loses protein easily due to an open cuticle. Low porosity doesn’t need protein, it needs gentle heat and moisture.

And to be clear you really don't wash your braids cuz it makes them look raggedier faster and loosen up faster people showing that they're washing their braids this is something new
