This is a new video in our PhD series and we are looking into factors that you need to consider when you think of applying for universities for your PhD program in the UK. I discussed types of funding available, availability of supervisory expertise, location of the university, your qualification. Super interesting video Fola. Many thanks. I was wondering if the fees are paid annually or it's a one-off payment for the entire 3/4-year period for the PhD. I'm about taking a plunge in this regard and basically considering my options, as you've rightly advised here. Any chance I could get some clarifications in this regard from your own experience?

The points you pointed out are very important. Possible courses available for funding or scholarship because it seems some courses are difficult to get scholarship than others. Thanks

Thank you, to some extent it is true that some field tend to get more funding than others. I will discuss funding bias based on research field soon.

I found this very informative. Thank you. Based on some considerations, I, an international prospective student from Nigeria chose the University of Liverpool. However, I just want some clarity on the English language test. Their seem to be a lot of tests that's ia required. I just want to be better informed. Can you please be of help?

Thank you for your comment. For the English test, you are allowed to only submit one of the list English tests. For example, waec results or IELTs etc...

For University of Liverpool, they don’t always accept WAEC. I got an offer for PhD from them but with a condition that I provide an IELTS certificate, I was confused because I did my Masters in the UK. Their rule is that once the Masters degree exceeds 2 years, I have to provide the IELTS certificate. Well I rejected their offer because it doesn’t make any sense to me.
