May 6, 2024 First back up your current iPhone to iCloud. Don't erase the old phone for a few days after you do the change over in case there is a hiccup and you need a do over. Then after the change over leave your new phone plugged in with your wifi on to give you new iPhone 15 a few days to sort and process all new data. Going from and old iPhone to a new iPhone 15 or the 16 (when it shows up in Sept) is now very automated when it comes to switching the phones number from the old device to the new one now that the built in iSIM chip has replaced the use of the manual slide in SIM cards. And the iPhone 15 change over process automatically connects to your wifi to down load from iCloud and loads up the new iPhone 15 will automatically detect pair up with your Apple Watch.

@@theonewhocares9179 $2000 for a phone that’s gonna last 3 years ain’t that bad..some people upgrade every year I ain’t upgrading again before those things are accomplished: 1- faster charging 2- new front design with slimmer bezels 3- bigger battery 4- HDR fixed and better UW camera 5- better zoom (no 100x gimmick, give me a polished and usable 30x-50x and I’m happy)

Correct, make sure all everything transfers over before resetting the old iPhone. Side by side sometimes fails if there is lot to transfer and it times out.

Before you turn off icloud account you need to turn off "find my iphone". In my experience if you dont do this the new owner might not be able to set it up.

If you have the device, just simply Sign out from Settings. If you don't have the device any longer, you can go to iCloud website and using Find My feature, simply remove the device from your account.

Hi I'm struggling in the part where when I have to sign out I copy the icloud then it never stops and I have great wifi and I never took it out the charger so I can't sign out as the copying of the iCloud is still loading. So if I were to reset while it's still in the icloud an I saved my things in tha iCloud would it rest all my things

many people forget to do this especially if its inexperienced people with the iphone. its not their fault though - apple is seriously annoying in that if you reset thinking that will sign you off, itll make the phone useless to the next user. why keep it locked and signed in when the user wanted to reset the thing? because of this, it results in many phones and ipads becoming useless bricks, and it contributes to e-waste. a third of all apple devices after the first user ends up as this. it is disgusting and wrong. apple should seriously address this in an update - people tend to go to reset instead of signing out etc, as many wouldnt be aware of that. instead, have a feature that when you reset, a prompt comes up saying you'll be signed out of the device, user clicks accepts and understands, resets and inputs their screen code to confirm. then the iphone is reset and good as new with no BS activation locks. i say this because a seller who was elderly did not know about this at all, and the buyer asked for this info to unlock the phone and she felt he was after her info, and refused to help, resulting the iphone being useless to the new user. the buyer tried to explain but the elderly seller didnt understand what he was talking about. thats an instant of why this 'signing out' crap before resetting has to stop. it should be, IF YOU INTEND TO RESET, IT AUTOMATICALLY SIGNS YOU OUT OF IT TOO.
