The REGAL MALL OF GEORGIA 20 is a megaplex, since it has at least 16 theaters. A multiplex has 8-15 theaters.

My work is like 10 minutes away from here. Its become my Friday night ritual to go to the mall. I use to go to the Georgia Square Mall in Athens as that's where I live (60 mile each way drive) but that place is piratically dead.

im glad you showed this. my children and i are trying to figure out what state we want to move to from NY. I wanted to make sure i wasn't gonna move them to a boring state or town. I wanted to move somewhere with diverse people. I want them to have all the things they enjoy here in NY, where they wont be bored. This mall looks like it has alot to offer. especially because the work too. they are young and like to shop and hang out when not at work and school. we like to go to movies and dine out. what otther places is great in georgia. with ll the racism going on in the world , what towns can you suggest in georgia that are diverse with our normal racism you get everywhere but there is no lynching and craziness. just your normal rudeness here and there? what areas are suburban?
@EatExploreMore3 жыл бұрын
You could try anywhere Forsyth county especially closer to the town of Cumming, which is a nice suburban area, you could also look in Buford Georgia which is where the mall is located! I (DJ) I am a realtor and would like to help you get into any home you may be interested in out here! When do you plan on moving down here?

You say it is true IMAX; are all of the screens true IMAX? I saw on a list of screens across the US, that Mall of Georgia has both...
@EatExploreMore6 жыл бұрын
They have just one IMAX screen. Here is the kicker though. Go only when Christopher Nolan has a movie out. Because they use the old school imax projectors which fill the whole screen.
@matthewevans78416 жыл бұрын
Okay thank you; so they only have IMAX screen total or only one true IMAX screen? If they have only one true IMAX screen out of multiple, is there anyway to tell if the movie you are buying a ticket for is for that one?
@EatExploreMore6 жыл бұрын
Yes they only have one. And usually if you ask for the IMAX showing of a movie they’ll point you in the right direction. The sign for the IMAX screen is noticeable. You won’t miss it.

Just wrnt to the regal theater Here to watch terrifier 2. Movie was 8/10. But the theater itself was about 5/10. Uncomfortable seats and a line down the middle of the screen.

Going to the movies. Haven't been fun for years now. I remember going to the movies growing up and loving going. But between the smaller screens, lack of quality control and expensive concessions, there has to be a really, really, really good reason for me to go to the movies again. I think I've missed my chance to watch Oppenheimer on the IMAX there.

If the mall of Georgia was a food it would be toast with some corn oil based margarine spread on it or a saltine cracker. This mall was constructed with no creativity or love at all. Square, rigid, and harsh. When you enter through the food court you immediately get this feel. The food court is designed like a refugee feeding area or at best a high school cafeteria. The aesthetics are atrocious. Harsh, rigid, steely, etc. The people who designed it were only thinking dollars and looked at the shoppers eating there as peasants who only need a feeding area. Not human beings who enjoy a relaxing, cozy, and comforting environment to dine in. Their customers weren’t worthy of that. They saw it as a waste of money to provide this for their customers. And the rest of the mall is similar. Very square, rigid, harsh, industrial park-ish, with no love, or creativity put into it. No ambiance, no feeling, etc. it’s as if the developers of the mall said to the citizens of north Georgia, “here’s your big mall that you wanted, pay no attention to the lack of effort and creativity we put into it. Just get in here and buy you peasants”. There’s nothing in this mall that inspires or impresses. No wonder and no love. It gives off vibes of steely coldness. Not coldness from a temperature perspective but from an emotional perspective. I say this because I have seen other malls to compare it to. For instance, the Woodfield mall in Illinois is the exact opposite of the mall of Georgia. The designers of this mall you can tell put their love, their heart, and their soul into this mall. And you feel it when you see it. The Tucson mall in Arizona is another example. Different styles but the same love.
@EatExploreMore Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I will say, I do like the way malls used to be constructed. Kind of like the ones you mentioned. However, I do like the Mall of Georgia because it has some uniqueness to it. It has gone downhill over the years. I will say that. But if you've ever been to Sugarloaf Mills, that mall is much worse as far as design and coldness. Most of the stores don't even have ceilings. You're basically looking at a warehouse ceiling. The malls built back in the '80s and '60s will always have that certain kind of charm that can't be replicated.
@nole8923 Жыл бұрын
@@EatExploreMore I concur. The 80s was my era. Malls then had a charm with the marble tile floors, the neon, and the food courts had a cozy comforting feel. Not this noisy echoing auditorium convention center feel like today.
