The enthusiasm they show while talking of N.O has me even more excited to go back in June. I lived there along time ago, and I love the city! I’ve only been back last December, when the artic blast had it in the high teens/low 20’s there.

The French market is free and so is a stroll through Waldenburg park along the river, where you can sit and watch ships passing by every few minutes. For those on a strict budget, and without cheating yourself, you can have a very memorable vacation in New Orleans for free, excluding food and drink of course. For a very small cost, you can take the street cars, and see even more interesting sights. Not many cities can boast about being so affordable to visit. I doubt no other city can, not even New York City.

A few things I'll mention since I got back (literally) 2 hours ago. The Sazerac House tour is free and well worth the time, you just have to schedule a time to visit. I typically visit in August so in regards to Festivals I'll also mention Dirty Linen. Also in August (or at least it used to be) if you are a member of a museum, you can visit about 25-30 other museums for free. So it costs you a membership (which you may already have) but it is well worth it, if you happen to be visiting that time of year.

@@FreeToursbyFootHQ That I did TY - It was really hard to find places to eat. I was in the Warehouse District @ the Ace and that, was challenging ! My 'alcohol tour ' - I did the Sazerac House, then 7-3 Distillery - NOLA Brewing and Miel Brewing the following day. All were good and different.

Just a heads up, St. Louis cemetery No. 1 is now mandatory paid entrance with a tour guide. The Basin Street Station building beside it gives a 45 minute tour for $25 (tips on top encouraged). No. 2 & 3 cemeteries are currently closed to the public.

@FreeToursbyFootHQ3 жыл бұрын
Some cemeteries are open. The two notable cemeteries that are closed are St. Louis Cemetery 1 and Lafayette 1. The first should be opening within the next few months but we have no more details. The latter is awaiting repairs and the city has yet to announce any date unfortunately, though it was originally supposed to be closed for only 1 year (pre-Covid).
