everything you see in the video, serapes, food, handicrafts, ponchos, etc... is 100% Mexican, not southwest. For some reason it's called New Mexico. The same stuff you find in Mexico, but much better.

@heartsnob So you think that chocolate is from Spain? the serapes? food? only the construction style is Spanish with a mixture of Mexican handicrafts decoration. everything else is 100% Mexican, it is not southwest, the Americans have not yet contributed anything to this ancient culture, they just enjoy it like the rest of the world, for example the cowboys, who appropriated it from the Mexican cowboys, who in turn the Spanish they brought to Mexico the raising of cattle and horse herding.

Sorry mate, your statement is not true. I've worked at several shops in the downtown area. Although there are some shops that specialize in Mexican products, the vast majority of shops sell locally made Native American and Spanish art, rugs, and jewelry. In addition, New Mexican food and Mexican food may be cousins, but they are NOT the same....

@FlySky-rb8wb 😆😆😆😆 You need to know more about the true history of America "the continent", not the US, and not the history they tell you in US schools. Including the native Indians of the entire territory of the central and southern United States who, by the way, are not Indians, they belong to Mexico because it was Mexico's territory, and the Spanish do not make the crafts that you mention are in the stores. The point is that even though today it is US territory, you cannot feel proud of something that is not at all Anglo-Saxon culture. Anglo-Saxonism in America has no cultural roots, everything is appropriation, it is still endemic to Mexico and the American Indians, what do they call wrongly. Fact, did you know that the Aztecs created pop corn? Maybe you think it's a creation of the US? And so on, many things that you eat, dress, wear, and things that you think you know today have Mexican origins, especially the southern states of the United States, which in reality is still Mexico, as you will realize.

@@LiliHugoUM Have you even been to Santa Fe? With all due respect, I don't need you to tell me what items are sold in the shops there. I have worked at several shops in Santa Fe, and even managed a gallery in Albuquerque. It was my job to know the origins of the art I sold!! Spanish colonial art IS sold in some of the shops. A portion of Hispanics that live in New Mexico still refer to themselves as "Spanish." For the most part, they are descendants of the Spanish settlers that came to New Mexico in the early 17th century. These artisans make santos, retablos, and colonial era furniture. I recognize some of the jewelry in the video as being made by specific NM artists that I know and have dealt with. I saw Navajo blankets in the video that are made on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. I don't deny that New Mexico territory once belonged to Mexico, but for you to say that the items, and food you saw were 100% Mexican, is hogwash!
