It's the birthplace of Mother Teresa and a vibrant tourist destination, with attractions like the 1500-year-old fortress Kale, St. Pantelejmon monastery, Sultan Murat's-Hjunkar Mosque, Daut Pasha's bath, and the first signs of the Renaissance.
