So here's some of my opinon about the quality of your video, maybe even videos. Let's start with the animation: 1) Your style is pretty recognizable and destinct, so I understand why did you change your old style to this one. 2) But. Any art style limits the artist, either their variations of character designs and rules of physics and anatomy, or doesn't allow them to do exaggerated expressions and movements. Like in your case. I never was a fan of dot eyes, since it's much harder to make them transfer the right emotion of the character and make them look right. I can't help but to see 2 dots, instead of eyes on your charecter. But it is relatively easy to fix. Just make eyes a little bigger and add a reflection to them, even a line half way through an eye would do just fine, like in Mickey Mouses design. Also, I would like to suggest to add movement to your eyes, just like real human eye switches from side to side, when looking at something, or someone. You know, when you look into someones eyes, while having a dialouge, and you switch around between the left eye and the right one. Will recommend to watch Rebecca Parhams animations (aka Let me explain studios) to understand what I mean. The absence of lip-sync doesn't help the immersion either, but that's fine, since lip-sync is a time-consuming and an unrewarding proccess. 3) You don't quite use the freedom of shapes, that this style have given you. I mean, you used this freedom to detach limbs from your charecter, while you could reshape your charecters, deform them, scale, do all kinds of fun stuff. Although, I suggest you to reshape your characters for specific reasons. Either for a joke, or to emphasize the power and greantess of someone, by scaling them up to the size of a building and getting an angle of them from down below. Or making someone small and thin for an opposite reason. You can do all of it just for one scene for a joke. Suggest you to explore the work of Sr Pelo to ger whan I mean. 4) The character design. You could go much further with the cops design. You could make him wider and lower to emphasize his harmless nature. Maybe you could make a walking stereotype, by adding a mustache and giving a donut to him. (pretty old stereotype but still). OR, you could have made him more blocky and bigger to make him threatning and adding a small head to emphasize his lack of intelligence . But that's the question about a character design, so I suggest you to watch the video "GOOD vs BAD Character Design: Tips and Tricks!" by BaM Animation. 5) And now to the most vital part. You still didn't learn the main principles of animation or don't know how to properly use it in practice. That is the "anticipation" and maybe "squash and stretch", probably even "drag and follow" isn't your thing. Here are some examples: at the start 0:14 your character reaches out for a key underneath a carpet and its hard to understand that at first viewing since there's no indication of what a character is going to do. The same thing with pointing at a deers head 1:30 and overall I advice you to use the anticipation more often. Squash and stretch - just one scene 2:37 when you get hit by a controller and the body doesn't react to the hit other then falling down, that is not enough for the hit, even here the problem with anticipation still aplies. Basically it's hard to understand what is going on the screen and it's really easy to confuse viewers. I advice you to watch the video "12 Principles of Animation (Official Full Series)" on an AlanBeckerTutorias channel, or just to learn principles of animation more thoroughly and think how to use them in actual animation process. Now onto the comedy, voice acting and writing. 1) You need to focus on spacing of the comedy. Your jokes don't leave an impact, don't give time to proccess the joke or to get prepared for an upcoming joke, you simply don't give enough time for viewer to make up an expactation to break it later on and make them laugh. For example, on 5:19 cops gets suspicious on how did you know his name, but there is not enough time to proccess it, since you didn't emphasize the important parts of the dialouge to guide the viewer to a joke. Speaking of which 2) Voice acting, two years had passed and I still don't feel a lot of confidence in your voice, you're not contributing to the bit, I know there are a lot more to your voice acting skills than you think. I just don't believe in their emotions. You're kinda holding back, you're not imagining yourself being there, in that scene. Easy ways to improve acting skills are taking a few different takes of the line, with different intonations, attentively listening to the audio and to imagine yourself in that case scenario - how would you feel if that truly has happened to you, and then you just take over. But the important advice - just be cool. Don't worry if you think you sound bad or if your acting skill are really bad, or if you're too loud. The first step to improve acting skills - is to be more confident and just have fun voicing characters. If you want to learn more about acting skills, just look around on youtube, I don't have any specific videos or channels for you. 3) Also the "nervous" movements of yours at a cop confrontation scene 4:20 is just a mess. You should have gone with a lot less expressionate movements. When someone is lying their gestures are little. They are constantly trying to hide their palms or touch their neck or forehead, trying to calm down themselves, also they cross their hands, againt, to comfort themselve and to show their distrust to the other person. Just something to keep in mind, just this scene looks pretty wierd. And again "anticipation", it's still hard to understand what's going on, and the spacing is not helping either. In conclusion: I quite enjoy your content and encourage you to do more of this. There are not a lot of content makers like you and you should be proud of yourself, personally I am proud of you. Hope that I didn't go too harsh on you with that big ol' load of critique, but it's pretty hard to find objective critique on KZbin, so hope I was helpful. If I won't point out these little happy accidents of yours, no one will as it seems. I also wanted to talk about your video and also my favourite one "I put my KZbin video in a Museum" but there are a lot of stuff to talk about, especially script. Also, please forgive me for my grammar and misconceptions, I completely washed out towards the end of this review. Overall, keep up your work and never give up.
