If you are driving somewhere in the state and you see a dust storm heading your way, do not try to drive through it. Get as far as you can off the road and turn your lights off. Just stay there until the storm passes over you. It only takes a few minutes generally. After the dust passes over you, be prepared for a lot of rain!

I was born here in 1951. Yep, I'm 70. Been all over the world, wound up back here. Arizona has low desert, high desert, forest, snow, above the tree line, Flats, ravines, rivers, lakes and one big canyon. We have great old west and mining towns. 1/3 rd of Teddy's Rough Riders came from here. Lots of old mines and a few caves too. Everything. If you are new to the south west, try Tucson first. Even Paul McCartney bought a home there. Home of Linda Ronstat too. People come and people go, but I'm still here. I like it.

My gut has been telling me to move to Arizona since I was in elementary school. I always remember drinking Arizona Iced Tea in those big-ass cans in the real early 90's telling my buddies "I'm gonna move to Arizona one day" and them looking at me like I was nuts. My favorite sports team growing up was the Phoenix Suns. Native American culture, wisdom, art, and way of life has always drawn me in and I really enjoy it. My zodiac is the scorpion. I feel I will live better in that part of the country due to heart conditions that I've developed over the past two years. I can go on and on. All I'm saying is "I cannot wait to finally leave Boston and this way of life that I know oh so well behind in the dust.

We are considering a move to Arizona in the next few years if the economy holds together. I always knew I belonged in the south west too, since my first trip out that way many years ago. I am from the Detroit area and while I do believe Michigan is a beautiful paradise in its own right, the desert just agrees with my body better. We carefully considered all the southwest states, and landed on Arizona because the laws are solid, the cultural diversity is awesome, and the diversity of the geography means we can do basically anything we want without even leaving state. I just worry about the poisonous/venomous critters. coming from a place where there are very few of these kinds of threats to a place where there are so many is a bit daunting. LOL

Yes embrace, so if you are a changeling type voter find somewhere else, we like fishing and hunting camping and we have some great scenic getaways. On the subject of hunting the folks in Az have a lot of hunting gear and it's open carry is most parts. Dont do it in the cities it's sort of frowned upon. But in rural area it's fairly common. So dont freak out city folks, oh and they have earthquake fault zones, a few in active volcanoes, and flash floods. Don't ever camp in a dry creek bed, and make sure you are a bit away during monsoon season ..NEVER!!! It can be extremely hot in the summer , so hydrate!! Do yard by 9am lol.

Good points but this is very Phoenix centric. Spending most of my life visiting Arizona I’d say break it up into 4 sections. Phoenix valley, Northern Arizona (flagstaff/Williams), Southeasten Arizona( Tucson, Sierra Vista/Bisbee, Sulphuric Springs valley) & maybe the western front of the Colorado river. I guess Showlow/white mountain area would be another as well. Climate in these areas are all a little different. But for sure respect the local people and embrace Arizona for the beautiful state it is.

I’m new from Alabama, November will be my 1 year anniversary. In august, there was like a week, I had to leave oven mits in my console. I even had a windshield reflective shade and my windows are tinted ..also those fabreeze vent plugs or the rear view scents last MAYBE 4 days. Cut that cost out all together 0-0. It’s a waste. There’s so much trash at South Mountain, I was picking it up for a few months but it almost invites the less fortunate (hobos?) when it’s clean. There’s a lot of Now Hiring jobs out here but most of these jobs are temp to perm without promise to go permanent or contract. One thing that threw me off was the 3 lane lights; one would stay red and the other 2 would be green, but you still should “Go” when the other two lights show green. I got honked at so many times for stopping at a red light 🤪 Or not knowing I had to be in the turning lane one red light back to get I. The turning lane that GPS was telling me. Seems obvious and no brained NOW but we didn’t have a set up like that. 😂 Also, these roads don’t have the pavement that absorbs water. Water just sits in the roads if it rains. I find that these plants survive the heat: toothpick cactus, Mexican fence post cactus, Gardenia shrubs, barrel cactus, lantanas, fire stick cactus, Johnny bottle brush, rosemary, Texas sage. Keratin treatments will also save the length of your hair, start those almost immediately (Launey @ Hair Attractions) $30.00. Especially if you are coming from a place of humidity. The water thing is legit, sometimes water doesn’t cut it, I still drink pedialyte or I get headaches or when I feel one coming on I take a few gulps. And then the headache is gone.

Just make sure to leave all the nanny state BS and entitlement attitudes in that nanny state(not mentioning any names, we all know) when you move here. This is AZ, not CA, NY, OR, WA or any of the other blue liberal states, and we like it just the way it's always been. If you are in a desert climate, stay hydrated!! Summer heat WILL kick your butt and it can kill easily. Watch the high country too, as weather can go sideways at the drop of a hat with monsoon in summer, and wintertime, well, self-explanatory with snowfall, slick roads and cold temps. Great video, thank you.

I just moved to AZ from WA state at the end of March. I decided to drive the all the way here. Let me tell you, that was the most terrifying road trip I have ever taken. If you like the scenic route, I've seen it all. I love living here but it's so much different than living in Spokane WA. There, you are living at a higher elevation but everything is pretty much FLAT. lol! I did visit before moving here but the road trip was very short. I flew to Vegas and drove the rest of the way. Yeah...I'm just a few hours from Vegas and about 30 mins from Needles, CA. So cool to be on the border of two states I plan to vacation in.

Love how you said no one likes people from other teams flexing against their home team in football Cardinals. True, I agree with you. But, it's like that everywhere you go. I lived all my life in NY and when I've gone to football games, I never had problems going with my Green Bay Packers jerseys w my whole family. I also went a couple of years ago to watch a Arizona vs Packers game and the Arizona people weren't mean at all. I loved them! They were so nice! And I even took pictures w my family and other family w Arizona jerseys on. I had a blast. Even if we don't like it, we have to deal with it. It's sports! I love Arizona and their people. I've always wanted to live there. Who knows, let's see. 😂

We are moving to arizonia next year getting the heck out of Wisconsin so sick of the cold snowy winters . My health depends on desert land no grass trees covid was not kind to me so I need dry air. I want to start a new chapter with my hubby. Taking a vacation in Nov. I been reading a lit about everything I know a got a while but we are coming. We want to retire here. And enjoy the fun. Foods restaurants. I know a big city will be different . But I not one for conversational or arguing. I don't ever talk politics you will never know who I want . Religion either I go to church my religion and it's nobody business Mt believes I silent to others about that. I will love it here I just know this is our calling. Guess my doggie will have to get little boots to walk at nighttime.

After 25 years in the bay moved to Gilbert a month ago, I don't believe it is practical to expect folks like myself to switch alliances as soon as I crossed Bakersfield. I love Arizona and cherish the intact way of life and freedoms and as a registered conservative I have nothing to change in this state when it comes to politics however switching loyalty overnight is asking for too much !! For example : I watched Steph Curry live 2nd row seat at the old oakland arena in his rookie season and watched in front of my very eyes the joy == >Igoudala, Green, Curry and Thompson brought to the Warrior fans who were for decades considered the DOORMAT of the nba or the legacy Bill Walsh left for the 9ers to inspire multiple head Coaches including Pete Carrol !! I really njoy the sport and this year the Cardinals have a real shot of going all the way while the Suns are up right there with Golden State ... .I will let you decide if you would change your loyalty overnight if you were in my shoes !!!
