I was at Bethel for 3 years and graduated from BSSM. Always rely on God, but have some sort of a financial plan as you step out. There are a lot of miracles and breakthroughs, but don't give away your own "bread" money and don't plan to use credit cards to carry you through until you get a job. Be practical and wise in the miraculous. Moses was extremely administratively gifted while in the middle of having miracles happen. Do both. Also, audit for a day the year before if you're able. Then you'll be able to see if it's a good fit for you. I'm extremely structured and studious, and while there are studies, it's more spontaneous than structured. And *everything* occurs at a rapid pace. Get your running shoes on. Lastly, the friends you get through the school/church may be seasonal friends. It's good to realize this beforehand. Many people are getting whole and healed while mapping out their niche to impact the world. A lot of them are younger. Life happens and callings/priorities change. Let it be and be grateful for your time with them as you learned so many lessons together. Blessings xx

I do have one question, maybe you would know: I am wanting to bring my car with me to Redding, California and I am from out of state. Would you know what the requirements are for bringing your car? For example do I have to register it? I'm not planning on living there forever. I plan on going back home after school is over. They are fine with me going to the church I go too, although I know they won't want me to go to this school for sure... Hey love. If God is calling you to go then GO FOR IT! God is faithful and you can be sure to leave any family conflicts with Him. Lots of people at BSSM go without their families blessing. You wont be the only one so you don't need to feel alone in that :)

Don't worry. God isn't calling to to BSSM. If you have feelings that tell you you should go then check to see if the BSSM is lined up with the truth of God's Word. A little hint: it isn't. God won't call you to do Tarot card reading nor does he call you to a fortune-telling school. By the end of it, was supportive because he saw how much I had changed for the better and the miracles that took place in my life. People see by our lives. hi there, i just had a question that i dont know who to ask. and you happen to be the first person i looked at that went to bethel on here. i have applied but i dont if i am getting in or not yet. i really really want to go and so fell led to go. but one thing i dont know about is i had a situation last year and sold my house and made some profit off of it and i paid for my family to go on a vacation and the vacation is the first week of september. so i dont know if i get in if it is possible to still go to that. like i could do the first day of school and then i would have to leave the second day. but i dont want that to keep me from getting accepted so if i have to ill miss the vacation and see if someone else can take my place in it. but i also feel like i need to tell them about it up front too. bc i dont want to get accepted and then missing the first week and no one know about it .....what advice do you have???

Hey lovely! Yep so first of all do not worry yourself :) ... wait until you get accepted - and then chat to your assigned summer revival group pastor - tell him/her the situation and see what they say. I have friends that came late to school and it was fine. Personally I would encourage you to not miss the first few days of school - but if you do it's really not the end of the world. You get 16 absences so you can take some for your vacation - and the leaders wont bother you at all - you are completely responsible for you attendance to school + then don't intervene unless you run out of absences (then you wont graduate) ... so no one will be annoyed it you miss any school darling. it will be totally fine. I guess make the decision - either way you are winning :) xx

Whenever a Christian, singularly or in group, operates in what God has planned, the enemy will raise oposition against them to combat it. Sometimes this manifests as accusations from other believers. Even C.S. Lewis has been accused of being a false believer, and he's one of Christianity's best writers. Most of Bethel's critics haven't even actually listened to a full message, let alone stepped foot into the church building. They base their claims off of video snippets taken out of context of the bigger picture. A church driven by the kingdom will be evident by the people's lives being changed for the better. A religious church won't let people in until they change while a "soft doctrine" church won't spur change and growth. A church that is filled by God's light and truth will result in its attendants growing and maturing in their faith. As someone who goes to Bethel, I can confirm that the last example happens here.

Connie Tirado, well I’m certainly not trying to buy the Holy Spirit, that’s for sure. The Holy Spirit is treated more like a power or force rather than the third person of the Trinity in these extreme charismatic circles. If you think that you can be “taught” how to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit then you are utterly lost and biblically illiterate. The whole reason they are called “gifts” is because they are gifted to you. You can’t just wake up one day and say “you know what, I’m going to pay to learn how to prophesy today.” I apologize if I sound less than loving, I know that I need to work on being more gentle, but this false theology destroys lives and kills people’s faith. Do you know how many expect to have their cancer cured by these people? How many expect to have their sight restored? And then when it doesn’t happen they are told it’s because they “didn’t have enough faith”. I don’t deny the gifts are real and for today. I do deny and abhor the blatant blasphemy of the Holy Spirit these people are engaged in, though. Oh, and I teach people in my local church about apologetics and doctrine. If the gifts belong to the Holy Spirit and he gives them to who he chooses, as you so correctly stated, then how is a “supernatural school of ministry” not a blasphemy against him? We don’t need to just pray, we need to expose with God’s light the things of darkness. Maybe you should do some more research on the New Apostalic Reformation and Bill Johnson. I would advise you sister to leave Bethel Church, especially the BSSM. They are hyper charismatics, who don't put the word of God first, but instead their emotions and experiences. The Bible shows us a balance in the spiritual gifts. Bethel church doesn't have biblical balance in regards to the spiritual gifts. The spiritual gifts cannot be taught which BSSM wants to do, the Holy Ghost gives gifts to believers as He wills (I Corinthians 12:11). Be a berean and search the scriptures (Acts 17:11).
