“I actually want to bottle this memory up.” Awesome you got to experience such a moment. At least it’s bottled up in a video ☺️. After a cloudy viewless experience at Fansipan, stoked you guys got to experience mist at mist trail and a perfect sunrise at Alishan. Seems like everything worked out perfectly! Thanks for an awesome, informative series on Taiwan. Your vids will definitely help me in my future travels! Safely travels and enjoy Indo!! Funny we continually keep passing by each other 😂😂

Haha yes! Still not quite the sea of clouds we'd absolutely love to see (we were in the wrong month for it.. apparently it's pretty incredible there too!) but it was still magical and misty! 😊☁️ Hope you do visit Taiwan.. totally seems like a place you could do one of your crazy long walks too 😁 haha yes I was telling Peter how you stopped in KL too! Was saying we were probably in the city at the same time so closest we've been so far lol 😆 one day! Thank you 🙏🏻 It's great to be in Indonesia.. think we'll talk enjoy this trip 😊 final stop before we gotta go back to NZ!

Alishan is stunning, almost primeval 😮❤. The indigenous people of Formosa are the ancestors of the majority of the indo-pacific peoples. Taiwan 🇹🇼 is definitely on my list of places to visit, thanks to your adventures 😀

The Japanese restaurants, definitely the best seat in the house, the view is so peaceful with clear blue skies, with the orange juice for Yen to help with the motion bug, I go for coke packs a punch but not as healthy Zhaoping park, is a place that is going to be on my list after I am bored with NZ,, love the rich colours of green and weathered wood colours, great to look and good for close up pictures and not more The morning sunrise, once there is too many tourist crowding round, its difficult to get a good shot or video, but very early trips are one of the best due to the fresh air and imagine the cooler months, the mist on route to the spot Many thanks for sharing your time at Alishan, just heard songs, but I know now it is more than a song Have a great week

😂 to get us ready for the trip I found the song on KZbin and played it on repeat a couple of times hahaha. It was a fantastic trip, one of the most memorable forests we've ever been to. The way the plants have grown is just astonishing. Hope you and Joyce are able to visit too sometime 😊 Take care have a great week ahead!

@@PeterandYen How much Mandarin should I study before going? I've heard that Taiwan has pretty good English proficiency, but as the "designated linguist" in my family I'd like to know what to expect language wise. That's the only thing keeping my wife and I from going. 😅
@PeterandYen
@PeterandYen 3 ай бұрын
@avecnayo can you read kanji coz it'll be similar but really all you need is Google translate and you'll be sweet 🙂 in Taipei (current capital) would say more people speak English and perhaps the younger generation but in other parts and taxi drivers less so. Most local food places you order by filling out a form that's in Chinese so Google translate app with the lens option definitely comes in handy. Otherwise it's order by QR code. For our final Taiwan video we made a "things to know before going" so you might find that helpful but yea I think it's pretty easy to get around coz all the signs are in English and Chinese and you literally just need one transport card that will get you practically everywhere so it's super convenient! 😊 You'll see a lot of Japanese influence in Taiwan too since it was under Japanese rule for about half a century. Could be a fun trip for you and your wife 😁

10:40 it is said that "it's just the beginning", but it's actually the most impressive part of recreation area, as the rest has actually more in common with a garden or city park, than any "ancient forest". This is of course very subjective, and for many it could be just fine, but if you like hiking and expect wilderness you will quite likely be disappointed. Luckily, there are few longer trails that go deep into the forest, which I can highly recommended. I wouldn't spend more than an hour on the main area, and instead just go to one of them.
