If you're looking for a video editor to do 1 video for $200, that's great, and you can even pay less, if you find the right editor. However, you won't find an editor willing to edit for $200 a month. If you are short on cash, I recommend learning how to edit yourself. There is a lot of free editing apps out there, and youtube has the videos to show you how to use that app.

For project to project, you can definitely use Fiverr. It will just be trail and error. When you are looking for long term, then you have to start the recruiting process to get an editor that stick with you for a long time.

O man, I can't believe I missed this comment. So sorry. I was in the same boat. I got tired of explaining every little thing to the editor. BUT... lol, after a month, there was no more explaining. They were able to edit 10 to 15 videos a day with no revisions because they kept learning after every edit. So I was able to focus on the business and not the editing.

It depends on the budget. What is your budget and how many video are you trying to complete per month? Also, keep in-mind your overall goal. Is it brand awareness, leads, or conversion. All of this will determine how much money you should spend on an editor.

Long-form my goal is one per week with at least one short form (either repurposed or separate) per day on Instagram Reels and KZbin Shorts. My service is functional medicine so I'd love to generate new patients. However I also love educating and entertaining. As my schedule fills up I want to grow that into selling products or other services that aren't hourly but that's down the road. My budget right now as i'm an upstart is maybe $200/month but I don't know if that's unreasonable or if I could even find someone for less. If I need to spend more I could I'd just need to cut elsewhere. What do you think?

You can find highly qualified editors on online job. ph, they are great, but you have to filter through 1,000 of editors some are bad, but some are amazing. So you have to create a hiring technique to find what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Just go to Fiverr and type in "music video editor" in the search bar. Review their work and send at least 3 editors a message. In that message, send them an example of someone else video (you can just send them the link to the example video). And then ask them "Can you edit my raw video like this? If so, what extra do you need from me to complete the task once I send you my raw video?" Trust your gut when you decide to work with 1 of the 3 editors you sent the message too.

Fiverr will be a short term solution, because the prices they charge are too high. But if I was looking for an editor on fiverr, I would look at their reviews. An editor with a 4.6 or higher that has over 1,500 reviews is a good start I would check to see what type of edits they do. Do they use animation? Do they source their b-roll? Do they know how to color grade? You have to think about what types of videos you want, and then look for those skills in an editor. Also, find a video you like, and send it to the editor. Ask them if that is a video they can recreate. Hope this helps.

Just know that you will have to give them details on how you want your video completed and it will be trial and error when testing out different editors. But this is where I found my first 6 editors. I would start with "Capcut." It's a beginner editing software for mobile devices, including ipad. Then I would watch some KZbin tutorials on capcut. There are a lot out there. And all of this is free. Hope this helps. It's time for you to get started 😃

There are a few platforms out there that allow you to hire long-term, full-time editors. However, you will still need to train them or have someone train them, so they can learn your style of editing. Also, the type of editor is important. Editor for youtube? Editor for shorts? Editors for IG? All editors are not the same. We have editors for our short films, youtube, and IG. Once you know what type of editor you are looking for, this will help you narrow down your search.

So this is really basic for editors. You just tell them the the length of the ad (how long you want the ad to be) and tell them the format. All editors will know how to format the video to the side you need for the ad. So really, you just need to find a good editor, and they will take care of the formatting for you

Well we have a lot of editors that works on my content and our clients. But unfortunately, editors don't come out the box ready to go. All our editors were trained by us for months to get the format that we use. I suggest finding an editor and training them to edit the way you like it. Or, you can hire a team that is ready to go.

Hey great video. Whats your opinion on getting an editor to cut clips and put them in a timeline. So essentially prepare the footage. Are there people willing to do that? It can take hours to get medium to large projects ready to edit.

Yes, there are editors that do this. My only experience has been with film projects. I would hire an editor to do the first pass, and then I would edit the rest. So the more expensive/great way to do this is to search groups on facebook. Like "VIDEO EDITORS of the PHILIPPINES", "I Need An Editor - DC, MD and VA", "I Need an Editor" Or you can check Fiverr (less expensive) and type in "film editor." Check out there work and have a conversation with them before hiring them. Some editors have a special link to all their work that is not on fiverr. So you can get a good idea of the quality of work they do. Hope this helps! :)

So what works best for me is getting a niché. You can be a editor that is the jack of a trades... editing weddings, commercials, social media video, sports lights, etc. But if you edited one type of video, then you become the expert. Not one style, but one type. I have a friend that is a video editor and he only edits flag football videos for kids. He creates highlight videos for one kid and he markets himself to other parents and team to get more clients. So anyone that wants flag football editing, they go to him because he is the expert. So I would say, find the niché that you love, and only edit those types of video. Market yourself and create ads targeting those people that need your service. Bonus Tip (lol): Find clients that sell a high ticket service or product, and do video editing for them. They are so focused in their business that they have no time to do their video marketing strategy. You can be that solution for them. But make sure you have an irresistible offer. An offer they can't say "no" too. I hope this helps.

Definitely find a sport editor. You can find editors like that on onlinejob.ph they have a ton of editors but you have to really search for the ones that can edit those types of videos. Do a few interviews, and then give them a test video. Send your video to them and see how well they do. I would test out 10 - 15 editors before picking one to be your full time editor.

Hey man. So in business, you going to pay for things in one of two ways. With money or time. If you are looking for an inexpensive option, the best recommendation would be to hire a editor from fiverr. But because it is cheaper, you will have to give up your time talking back and fourth with the editor to get the results you want. However, if you work with that editor enough times, he/she will learn your work flow and the editing process will be much faster.
