Hi, runing Chrome flex on an 10+ year pc no problems at all (4gb ram, spinning harddrive) running faster than it did new with win7😂 this pc is not on Googles support list either. (Sorry for the bad english and miss spelling.(but I started 2022 with a 🧠stroke) love your videos, they are absolutly helpfull and informative.👍🏻 Keep up the great work

I've installed Chrome OS Flex on an old Dell desktop that I had lying around and it works great. I don't really use Android apps or Linux software so what Chrome OS Flex offers is more than enough for me and now that machine has become my school computer.

I get back to windows. I upgraded my laptop by installing ssd and put a caddy for my hdd as storage. I also plan to upgrade my ram by adding additional 4gb to make it 8gb.

I really liked the system, but unfortunately I couldn't get my internal wifi adapter to work. Only an external USB wifi adapter worked for me.

Works great on my acer chromebook 15 CB3-532. 16 gb of internal storage & 2 gb of ram. Runs pretty well compared 2 the original chrome os I had. I had windows 4 a while. But that shit was slow as hell. So chrome os flex came 2 the rescue. I recommend it if ur laptop is shitty & slow. Works 4 me, could work 4 u 2.

1:10 I have a huge interest to install this on my old laptop and i've already CLONED the whole harddrive.. 2:50 My harddrive is divided.. i mean i got "C:" as main and "D:" as a storage.. Is it gonna delete both partitions?

Yes, it takes your entire drive and gives you no partitioning options during install.

I understood for myself that no operating system will be even close to Windows or Mac in functionality and ease of use for the reason that only such large companies can keep up with advancement of technology by investing a lot, that no small companies or voluntary staff network can ever afford I think. And Linux might work well only for really knowledgeable people. Thanks

I'd switch to Linux as my daily driver but I've found most distros are terrible on laptop battery life.

Mint recognize chromeos flex (dvd replaced hdd in notebook) and i can choose sdb3(chrome os) - beta or sdb5(chrome os) - stable. But after that i cant directly boot from the second disk (reboot loop). Maybe after "power clear" it will be fixed. I have old EFI (not UEFI).

In my pc chrome os flex is working fine but wifi is not working even though it is showing wifi is turned off after turning it on please reply me any solution.

Hey, I am sorry to say that if it doesn't "just work" on Flex, there isn't a whole lot you can do. Are you certain it is not working at all? I had a device with no wi-fi and I wasn't even able to install Flex because I couldn't get past the login requirement

In my experience, my PC had working WIFI with Windows, after switching to Chrome OS Flex, it stopped working. This is what I did. I made a bootable Ubuntu pen drive, then I picked the option to try Ubuntu, from there, I switched on the Wifi and exit. After restarting without the pen drive, my WIFI started working

I loaded Flex on old desktop. Works and runs fast. Will it connect wireless to modem with a usb adapter? All the usb ports work. Any thoughts?

Linux distros as a do-all system is terrible. Any distro i tried, from lightweight to full on debian or mint is either too stripped for any support, or too heavy with no optimization for specific hardware and needs to be constantly tinkered with and worked on, just to get basics working. Chrome OS flex and android is really the only linux that seems to work on a consumer level ease-of-use. Android is the best that ever happened with the linux kernel

Thanks for the comment, although I have to disagree! I have had great luck with Linux over the years. To each his own though.
