My Dad was a long distance truck driver in the late 1940’s, he had a Mack truck, my 2 older brothers driver their own Peterbuilt’s one ran the West coast and the other one ran the East coast. My 2 nephews also drive long distance I am so proud of them. My oldest brother would call me daily and tell me where he was and describe the scenery to me I always thought I was with him. He passed away 2007 I miss my daily calls. I just found your channel. Always stay safe

Might be 101 with the heat index. I'm surprise you don't get a thermo king apu, i paid $14,000 install and 2 yr warranty. I'm convinced it saves fuel and rare and tare on the truck. My son was almost taken out by tornado near Riley Kansas, the tornado lifted just before it hit Riley. We had tornadoes training on us here in Coffey county Kansas, but they dissipated 25 miles to the south. Barnsdall Oklahoma was wiped off the map as well.

Kurt Oklahoma has had one of its worst years so far for tornadoes this past weekend Barnsdall,Oklahoma got hit with an EF4 pretty much took almost every home out I live in eastern Oklahoma and it brings back the time in 1999 every 5 days towns were being hit bye big tornadoes people loosing everything they own. Kurt you and your family stay safe and all the prayers go out to everyone who has lost everything they own bye these severe storms so far this year.

I am with you on the heat. I drove my van for a few years with no heat. In Michigan. I used to don a snowmobile suit just to go to the store in winter. I will take the heat any day. People around here complain when it gets to 90s here but not me. I go by the river and enjoy the day.

Kurt, your drop in Enid going in the 1st gate is where I dropped my youngest and picked him up when he worked in maintenance there. Just across the street of that same gate was where my oldest son worked up until last year and got a real job. Meno Co-op is where I buy all my tires. Yeah Oklahoma roads are rough but Enid has the best humpy-bumpy rough streets in the state. Enjoy watching and the stories you tell along the way.

It's been maybe 11-12 yrs now, I was working in the oil patch south of Woodward, pulling water from a well-site when a tornado blew thru Woodward and killed a couple kids. Sat in my Pete rocking back 'n forth like crazy waiting it out. Yep, know Woodward, OK!

Woodard Oklahoma is up in the panhandle of Oklahoma and yes we've been having tornadoes a lot lately here in Oklahoma stay focused and safe and Oklahoma does have some really rough roads here.

Very nice ride today. I have a gentle tip to share: We all have moments when words and memories escape our intention to comment on them, me too. A simple solution for some of us is to keep and use a White Board (out of sight?) on which to write little reminders. Comments then flow and nobody needs to know. LOL Thankee for the ride. Be well.

The panhandle was a part of Texas. When they joined the United States, slavery was illegal above the 36th parallel. So Oklahoma got a. However you are right. When it happened in 1846, Oklahoma wanted nothing to do with it. Thus little was done in the way of state law enforcement. Okay, editing here. I had to look it up. It was 1845. December, 29. They put me back on the Denver to Kansas City run. I was going to Kansas City that evening of the storms you was talking about. My mom calls me up to let me know about possible tornadoes around Abilene. I said ok I'll keep my eyes open! Trucked on through it. I was behind most of it. Then while unloading in Kansas City the next set of storms caught me. Blew pretty hard for a little bit. I probably passed you somewhere maybe unless you went North at Salina?
