Yes, I’ve worked really fucking hard and scraped by with junk for many years to work my way to the point where I can have top quality equipment, study my industry like it’s a college masters degree final to make sure I’m doing things correctly and legally, and I’ve been doing it for 21 years. I’m proud of every one of those things and don’t give a single fuck what anyone else thinks of that.

It's funny that, the people that tell you what you "should" do, are the ones with a 1989 Honda CRX, and have absolutely no idea about the trucking world. Keep up the good work, and congrats on getting back to where you want to be!

I’ve never commented here before. I recently got out of heavy haul because it’s just become such a mess up here in Canada in so many ways. However there’s plenty of work for people that want to do it and do a good job. So I wish you the best Casey. You will do well. And to make it where you did in the last 5 years is absolutely fantastic and a credit to your skills and work ethic. You should be extremely proud of your achievements and deserve a profitable and prosperous future! Good job!

Casey, I had to get towed yesterday on I-5 and had to wait for about 4 hours for my company to make arrangements for that to happen. That being said, I am so thankful for you and all the other tow companies out there working hard to help us guys out that are stuck. I had mentioned your name to my tow truck driver and he had the deer in the headlights look for about a minute and I said Casey runs a white western star and then it clicked!! He says, oh, the guy with the Zack lift??!!! I said, yep that’s him!!! I am so glad you’re doing what you want to do in this lifetime and making a difference in our lives helping us out too when things line up just right!! I can’t wait to see a heavy haul trailer behind big red!!!

I have always said, decisions made on emotions are usually poor decisions. Being able to essentially build a business from scratch by yourself in five years to the level you have is a testament to how business decisions should be made. There are certain people in the business world who have an innate knowledge of how it should be done that professors at business schools can't teach to their students, and you are one of them, despite the fact most of us, Canada included, hate you. 😊 It is people like you who make America great without help from the government or any politician.

I think you're right on the money. I've always considered vehicles or equipment to be rolling equity. I started with a basket case $50 Honda 90 at age 18 while stationed on Guam working up to a new Mustang at age 20 when I came back. Paid cash for it. Now, at almost 75, I've upgraded 3 times in the past 2 years and have always paid cash for everything for many years. Emotional attachment is foolish. Needs change, don't pigeon hole your progress.

I wouldn’t hire anyone either. Nobody’s going to treat it better then you. I always disliked sharing trucks when I was a tow guy. One of the companies actually bought me my own. It was always the cleanest and most organized. The owner of that company loved me. I was even allowed to call it “my truck” but I worked my azz off for that company.

Watched the short, so I know what’s gonna show up... I can already imagine the smile from the ”Iron King” telling you that he got a nice, easy job for you, in the middle of the desert....😂 The true heroes in this story, would be your family. They were standing at your side all this time! ❤️ (Even after you became a youtuber, because of a red jeep on tracks!) And also, only my opinion.... I think you all are in a better position now, then you were when everything went up in flames... Now you know that you will survive and conquer almost everything together.😊 Holding both of my thumbs and wish that the beast and the new thingomabobber will treat you well! 👍

Your comment on buying and selling vehicles brought up a memory of my childhood. My dad was notorious for changing vehicles before he’d ran a tank of gas thru one. The most memorable day was when I rode to town in one car, swapped it for a pickup and then came home in a completely different car all in the space of about 3 hours. We learned not to leave anything in a vehicle cause odds were if the vehicle went down the driveway it probably wasn’t coming back😂😂.

The blue truck seems too low too. You often end up in rough(er) terrain, and that lower nose... it's very close to the ground compared to the other two. I'm kind of glad you're selling the blue one. Up up and away! Edit to add: I used to get attached to your vehicles too... but ever since you have explained that you are aiming for heavier and heavier, I have adjusted my view and now I'm looking forward to the next steps upward for you, and it just makes me happy seeing you selling the lowest ranked trucks in your company, so you can move on to bigger and more! I needed that explanation for it to make sense, you selling the things I just got attached to. For most people...if they buy a car or truck, it's not a re-sell thing, and thus we get attached. Now that I know not to do that.... I enjoy the rest a lot more. Including the selling and you making a profit on it. I now look for all the other things that give me joy. And explanations are definitely a part of that, cuz, you know, context. ;-)) You keep doing you, Casey! Ps: I will never get enough of truck walk-arounds. Ever.

Your focus, clarity, and commitment to your business plan is commendable. A lot of small businesses that struggle lack those three elements. The "personal attachment" to the equipment on this side of the camera is likely rooted in what we see in the effort you invest in getting the equipment in proper working order. Amassing equipment is amassing costs so having the right amount of tools to support your business plan takes the focus, clarity and commitment. I am sure that you have a brief moment when you see a truck leave after getting sold, you speak to it under your breath, "its not personal, just business"

Once the comeback becomes reality, the set back (looking back) can be a great thing. Now, in your case, I have to say, everything literally going up in flames has to add a whole new level to all of it. That's the real "message" here. It's not the trucks, it's not the recoveries - It's the comeback. I've always sensed when you do a "helping call" (which I recognize is funded by sponsors) it's not just a call to you. It's an opportunity to "pay forward" what was paid into you. I bet grandpa made offers to help you that you turned down or maybe he encouraged you to not take to understand what you know now. Great stuff. I think a SUPER cool video would be a "sit and chat" with you and grandpa to hear his side of the story.

Casey, great explanation and I like that you have a logical business plan for the future.. My friends here in Australia run a heavy haulage company, with all different size floats. They mainly use spreading decks with 4 rows of 8. Another friend recently got a 90 tonne ( metric ) tilt tray / step deck to move 40 shipping containers. Mining and earthworks are the main industries.

A good way to increase the views of your short videos can be to put the link to them in the description and at the end of the video drop "in a sly" way: and if you want a preview of what I'm talking about you have the link in the description, hahaha (I'm referring to both the spoiler you made weeks before presenting "the beast" in a long video, and the preview of your new low bed ;) ). On the other hand, for better or worse in your business, you make your decisions, and although for some of those who see your videos these do not make much sense, day by day you show that you have a fairly well-planned plan, and although nothing in this life is certain, it seems that sooner rather than later you will achieve your goal :)

It absolutely amazes me the amount of criticism you get and these stupid morons aren’t even there to see what is really happening. You’re doing a great job, keep it up.

I agree with your rational business strategy. Question: given you're in the blue NW, isn't there enough EV tows to justify keeping a rollback?

I noticed that I do form some sort of attachment with my vehicles because they are mine and served me well. The only vehicle that I am sad you sold was the Haggland, as I think it would have been a cool series to watch you fix it up and use it to explore some of those cool places in the mountains during the winter. Such as the little mining town from previous vids.

Good explanation Casey. If you don’t have a video of you towing Bruce Cook on the lowboy of that heavy haul strapped up like precious cargo, we are all going to miss out on an epic fundraising opportunity.

I think that YT viewers come to a channel looking for specific content and when that changes, they get upset. It's not so much emotional attachment, it's just the expectation of specific content. IMHO (and this is NOT a criticism) I don't think anyone on YT ever understood where you were going with your business, including me and I've been watching for at least 2-3 years.... That may be the source of most of the pushback. That said, I mostly watch YT channels for the creators personality, not specific content. As long as it keeps being entertaining, I keep watching.

Thanks for the explanation and the previous short of “slow trucking”. Your thinking is sound.

I'm pissed at the *National Weather Service* Clearly, they are not fans of your channel as they are failing to send enough snow your way. More snow, more need to go do fun and exciting rescues in the mountains and more entertainment for us. *BAD WEATHERMAN!* *VERY NAUGHTY!*
