That's exactly why.You should never let your hand down that automatically screams "I don't know please embarrass me in front of everyone" I raised my hand all the way through school in all my classes only got asked about 8-7 times in my entire school life.The trick is not to seem too eager but don't seem totally disinterested either raise your hand after 3-5 people already raised their hands. If no one raises their hand or someone that already answered raises their hand try to seem like you're thinking about the question and if for some reason your teacher asks you, then say "I'm still thinking about the question and I am not quite sure yet".You'll almost never have to answer a question ever again.

There are no teachers pets in my class... however there is a dude in my class who I absolutely can't stand. It's the kind of dude who will do ANYTHING to annoy you, such as: getting in my face; shaking my desk while I'm doing work; will say the dumbest shit to offend or annoy me. What's worse is that the teacher doesn't think anything of it.
