Lost my mom, who was my best friend, when I was quite young. In the year or so after, I listened a lot of Low Things We Lost in the Fire. Also Red House Painters - Down Colourful Hill & RHP I & II. Listening to July again, makes me want to cry again. But in a good way. Her name was Julie, but she took her own life in June. To this day, I still can't listen to Low Embrace. Or Red House Painter's Drop or Moments. And there's certain scenes at the movies that I just have to walk out of. Some things in life, and art, cut you to the bone.

So true about first loves staying-my first Mogwai album was Come On Die Young and I still find that my favourite album despite it being pretty low down the table for a lot of others-including the band! I've only just gotten into Low and I Could Live In Hope is the only album I've heard (which has been played to death lol) so I'm hearing this for this first time. Got to say I like what I hear big time but for now I prefer "hope"

Laser Beam - first slow arpeggio of the first chord (D, in open G) the very first time I heard it, BANG. So simple. Guitar. Open chords. Voice. Modest, plaintive, direct and heartbreakingly perfect. Totally distinctive and perfectly, definitively LOW. And there are many other buried treasures too: nothing was lost in this fire.

Remember listening to this sometime in my teen years in the renuion with my best friend after a year or so in her basement absolutely immersed in the music...do not exactly remember how this was being played cuz it was in Korea...we had never really talked about this album or the music we liked...but we both instantly knew we had known and loved this music for some time...I had and have never felt so connected with her...and could not stop crying until the end of the music...Now almost 20 years has passed and I don't really talk to or see her...but it was one of the happiest moments in my life...Love you...my friend, my younger self and everyone of you who is and is not listening to this music...and thank you, Low for leaving us...at least me this memory...wish you well.

When I was around 10 years old I was woken by a sound that I can only describe as angels singing. LOW is the only band that has ever come close to that sound and feeling. This was my first Low album I purchased just out of college while working for tower records. Brings back great memories and have been a huge fan ever since. Thank You Low. Loving all your new music as well.

One of my all-time favorites. Albini’s raw production (intertwined with classical strings) creates a beautiful dynamic of a warm and yet simultaneously cold sound that makes this record perfect for walks in the snow or being surrounded by the fireplace. With this album giving me great visuals of my own over the decade of listening to it, I can’t wait to see what you guys have in store with this video.

We have epigenetic trauma / a verifiable family story that my grandma’s house was arsoned when she was a child . This song always gets to me , like a lot of other Low songs do. My grandma and my mom and aunts all had a fear of fire . Imagine almost dying in a fire and losing almost everything you have to it.

Followed Low since the mid 90s, and saw every live show in SF they did from 1998 - 2018 when I lived there. I watched as the crowds grew larger each tour at the GAMH. Watching the video accompaniment to the TWLITF album reminded me just how spectacular this album was. Especially like that Mimi took a more active role singing solo although Alan/Mimi harmonies really are beautiful.

What a beautiful way to revisit this stunning album. This was my first Low record, bought whilst I was a student. I saw you not long afterwards, touring Trust, in St George’s Church, Brighton, UK. I remember the chilly exhilaration I got from the music, and later kissing the girl I was with on a bench on the seafront with the wind beating us. So many great albums and some truly moving shows in which I have felt a special and sometimes unnerving sense of communion. Thanks for staying so true to what you do.
