The video was made 5 1/2 years ago。Things have changed. There is actually a subway in Taichung now. There are apps that give you instant real time bus schedules, they tell you how long does it take for the next bus to arrive, most of people stay in line even older people.

No bones, no skin, no face, no eyes, cut all fruits into little bites... That's so American! Lol. I love this video. It's a perfect example of cross cultural relationship dilemma. No offense but someday Vicky will want to make a video about Things We Will and Won't Miss in America. Lol

spot on about the jumping through burning hoops and the constant conflicting information when dealing with the gov. all your points were pretty much on target. re: the driving, it is a nerve wracking nightmare every ten metres. very good analysis. cheers.

I like dryers too but they do tend to shrink clothes which ruins a perfect fit.. plus they are super environmentally unfriendly.

I apologize to say this, if you guys want to build this channel you need to live in Taiwan. The US is just not interesting to most people.

I remember coming back to the US after several years in Asia. I really do miss the convenience of things, and how easy it seemed to explore some new place and eat new food. Luckily I'm on the east coast so I have some room to wander. It's just that none of my friends here never really developed that mindset! Next weekend I bought a random Amtrak ticket to just go to Philly and explore the city. I'm going by myself and that's fine, but most people around me just aren't in that mindset to go!

After living in the states for 30 years, Doesn’t matter how good your English has become. English it’s still a foreign language to me. And American had never been my home. Taiwan is where am I root is.

The hot weather in Taiwan can be uncomfortable at times but there is relief, so many shops, the ocean breeze and the beautiful mountain escapes. A portable fan is comforting though as humidity makes you wet, especially walking through the outdoor markets or concrete jungle. Compared to Texas, I would take the heat in Taiwan as there is really nothing(outdoors) to enjoy when so hot versus, as she said, everything is so convenient in Taiwan, including the sightseeing! Weekend getaways in Taiwan is a competition with all the people but during the week, nothing better. What I miss most is the food. My health has been a challenge these last couple years and recently, felt it time to plan for end of life. Just back from a month in Taiwan, eating as I did home in Texas, I gained back 25lbs that put me at my normal weight and not just belly weight. Wheel chaired to gates on departure to, ultimately, feeling 30ish versus me at young 53! Although I should prefer to visit Taiwan, I’m pretty sure I will be moving there, if I am to live a normal life. So sad that food is so abundant easy to access in America, yet it is not really food. GMO, pasteurized and corporate meat farms have destroyed the health of so many. Saying that is a common thread we hear every day on social media and our personal conversations, yet this horrible realization is still so extremely overlooked and accepted the norm. If you have a serious illness, get as far away from altered and manmade foods and you will find much comfort and very possibly cures to your issues. Also, medications are badly affecting our DNA and eliminating that, if possible, will help your body to do what only it can do, given the proper natural nutritions! Just sayin....

I am south european, living in north europe, been driving in UK, US, Taiwan. Driving in Taiwan was very easy to get used to. Most important is that Taiwanese are really really careful drivers and the speed limit is almost always much lower than it would be in Europe. I look forward going back

If you plan to live in the US long-term, then I look forward to future videos about interesting places and events in the US. In Oklahoma, what do you like to do in your spare time? How does it compare to what you do for fun in Taiwan?
@Asiabrew
@Asiabrew 6 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of outdoor fun in Oklahoma (fishing, hiking, hunting, exploring, etc.), but also a lot of local events every week. Plus, everything is pretty affordable here. It's actually not that bad of a place. Taiwan has a lot of cool cultural things to check out and the convenience of everything makes it all super easy to access. Plus, you have the ocean really close to you down in Kaohsiung, which we will both miss.
