The Vodou concept of zombies would still exist in TWD reality, and they could take the word and apply it to the undead just as we have done. They just didn't have the luxury of first applying it to the fictional undead, like we have in our reality.

Since TTG's The Walking Dead is in the comic universe, it is completely normal that Lee used "zombie" in a sentence. Yeah, they use many different words in the comics canon (which is the side the side the TT game series is supposed to be set). That fact was specifically changed for the show, and was explained in-depth about it being a world without the pop culture references to "zombies" being known in every home by the 80's so that confused viewers would understand why these characters didn't know about zombies. In fact, plenty of people still aren't aware of the rich comic universe that the show developed from.

He never mentioned them. During this time in the game, Rick was still in the hospital room and Shane was elsewhere nowhere near either of them. This is before he heads back into Atlanta and long before he talks to Rick whos trapped in the tank. In order for you to be correct, the entire timeline would have to be altered. Remember, we're already a few months in before Rick snaps out of his coma that he slipped into before the zombie apocalypse.

Meaning (and im using the comics storyline) he would get back to Atlanta, see its destroyed because everyone was told to head to the cities..dumb move tbh..., and eventually meet up with & make supply runs for Shane and Co. living on the outskirts of ATL. Shanes idea, he was waiting on the government to save the day. Anyway Rick comes out of his coma, meets Morgan and his son, leaves, heads to find Lori at her parents place, he finds out the city fell, attacked by Zeds, saved by GLENN who takes him back to camp. Again, in neither the graphic novel or AMC show (that takes its own liberties for TV purposes) does Glenn just up and take off for SEVERAL MONTHS. Again, your assumption is not true due to the already existing timeline from the Novel/TV show.

Sorry if you say this but I want to write it before I forget- The hatchet Lee uses throughout the game is in Season 2. Clem uses it while escaping Carver's camp, however Lee drops it down the bell tower. Also the rabbit in S2 that is in the stall in the beginning was in S1- I forgot where, sorry. Hershel killing the zombies that bit his son is an error in my opinion, this occurred while he still believed them to be sick people. Also the word "zombies" has been used in the comic book, and i believe the early episodes of the show.
