One our favorite shows too, we have the DVDs box set, and many time put in a dvd in our kitchen and let it run all morning. No commercials! 🙋♂️🙏

I never really watched this show (just a bit to far back for me lol) but i appreciate the tidbits! Interesting how so many other tv dads honed their acting chops on the program as well. Thanks very much Uncle Bob!

This was the Energizer Bunny of TV series. I never knew any of these facts! "Twenty-Four House in Tyrantland"....sounds a bit contemporary...I just watched it on YT.

I had bought a first season D V D of the show and the episode 24 hours in Tyrant land was put into the package. It was an interesting episode.

I didn't see much of this show. To the best of my knowledge, it didn't get syndicated in my area. Dick Van Dyke once said his sitcom was the first where you knew what the father did for a living. But wasn't Jim Anderson an insurance salesman? Some of us know Elinor Donahue better from her time on TAGS. Both she and Jane Wyatt appeared on Star Trek.

Please lower the volume on the intro and ending. Very annoying

You mentioned that they reached #6 in the rankings in their final year. Do we know why thery were then canceled after their most successful season?
@Ezio_19072 жыл бұрын
Due to a writer strike, they had pre-recorded most episodes so they were able to release the season. And Robert Young and Jane Wyatt felt it was the right time to leave. I have included the links to Elinor Donahue explaining this.
