I love how eloquently and simple you explained everything in the video. I always cringed at certain videos or even lectures when the instructors start using unnecessary big words in order to explain relatively simple concepts. This channel will be very inflential in my path to becoming a network analyst, so I truly thank you brothas

You must know the OSI model and how to apply it to troubleshoot. You must also know IP addressing and how to take a block to give you the amount of subnets needed for any size location.

@@ejay2075 Not the initial job I was referring too but I did get another job as a software consultant with a payment processing company. The key is really just having experience on your resume. Now that I'm in my first professional role in IT while adding more certifications I can't wait to start applying again till I find something I like and that pays well.

@@keysaucin9157 First research which realm in IT interests you. You don't have to commit and can always change. Then decide if college FT or PT or just work while teaching yourself the industry standard certifications. Depending on which path is best for you, make sure you apply, apply, apply, for positions. It's really all about getting that first role under your belt. After you have some experience and added some credentials more opportunities will be available to you, at least how it played out for me

Thank you for posting. I recently got a job offer as a NOC Analyst with no certs as well. Prior I worked at Ricoh and mostly what I have done is troubleshoot the printer network to make sure users can print, scan, and any other network related function. Looking to get the Net + very soon.

For me who is just getting into a career with technology this was ease to relate too and understand. I'm currently trying to find what line of technology I want to go into. So far I like quality assurance and I have a interest in grading calls at a call center for example. Less customer facing.

Great video. Very informative, I had a question that I was hoping for some guidance with: I have one year of IT experience from internships, do you believe this is enough to apply for FT network analyst/admin jobs? Or do you think I still need to work a lower level job like a help desk type role first? Disclaimer: I am a senior in college (graduating in spring 2021), live in NYC but hoping to relocate, and no certs but working towards a CCNA, my first internship was general IT work for my college and other one was a network engineer internship at a major telecommunication company.

Apply for anything even if it's looking for 2+ years. You definitely can get a network job with a year of experience but it's going to be trickier, you really need to stand out. A lot of places don't want someone with little experience to work on their network, but some places will be willing too. I would maybe look for junior roles or network technician roles. I had a little over a year of networking experience through internships plus a CCNA, but struggled to land a networking job, my last internship wanted to hire me FT on the network team but didn't have any openings and didn't know when they would. I ended up taking a L1 position to get more real work experience and am working on moving to the network team there. Job market is kind of weird right now which doesn't help. New York should have plenty of opportunities for you though!

Hello Everyone, currently a Game/Programming Teacher at a high school. I got my Bachelors in Information Tech -Network Admin. Is it possible for me to land a network analyst jobs with experience from school (Also studying for my CCNA and Network+). Any suggestions on the position I should go for with my background? Im trying to stay near the 50k range ( like my teaching position). Help desk positions are low pay so I am avoiding them. Thank you in advance
