15:59 - Back in the mid-1980’s, my mother cut off a finger using this hack. Frozen containers get slippery on their sides, especially as they sit on your cutting board. I’ll never forget the Thanksgiving my family spent sitting in a hospital waiting room as my mom underwent emergency surgery to reattach her finger. Suffice to say we never ate ice cream or frozen yogurt this way ever again. Come to think of it, “hack” is exactly the right name for this technique. Use a heated spoon or simply wait a few minutes and the ice cream is perfectly manageable without the hassle of accidentally cutting off any body parts.
@latiendadepaikawaii Жыл бұрын
So, did they ban ice cream on your household due to PTSD?
@robertholtz Жыл бұрын
@@latiendadepaikawaii LOL. No, and my mother was remarkably calm and kept the accident entirely to herself for a number of minutes. She was fumbling around near the pre-soaked dishes from Thanksgiving dinner we had just consumed when my father noticed her searching the dishes and asked her what she was looking for. Calm as day, she lifted her bleeding hand and said, “my missing finger.” That instant my aunt screamed louder than anyone I’d ever heard before and EVERYONE jumped up from the dinner table in hysterics rushing the kitchen all at once. Ice cream and frozen yogurt are NOT banned in our households but none of us will EVER use this hack. That much I can tell you. Cheers.

The condiment holder thing is dirt old. I was a kid in the '90s and we tried this. So this could’ve been way before that. I only know as far back as the '90s. We quit doing this 'cause it was harder the condiment cup since it wasn't a cup anymore. It held only a little bit more when opened, then if anymore, it would be messy. The condiment would get on the fingers (since the holder moved around and it needed to be held down). It would also get on anything the holder was sitting on. So yes, opening the condiment holder up means more space for the condiments, but it's harder to carry without getting any condiments on your fingers/hand and or whatever it's sitting on. It also looked like in the video used, that the condiment holder didn't have much more in it than when it was closed in a bowl shape. Which defeats the purpose of having it open except for getting all of the condiment out of the cup. Open it up when there's a little bit left on edges.

Indeed. A dishwasher is for removing dirt and grime. If you use a dish washer on a daily basis.. You know a few things about how dirty the pipes and parts get. Delivery water is sometimes used in multiple re-cycles of the washing process to reduce water wastage. This means that the caustic salts that are used in a normal cycle stay in the "recycle" pipe from wash to wash. Meaning you would have to run the dishwasher 3 to 4 times to clear the "old" caustic cleaning products from the system, before it is "food safe". Your dishes sit through the caustic wash and get rinsed / dried by the dish washer. They dry in HEAT to remove the residue. Fruit goes through the same process and bakes into the skin... the caustic wash salts. Also.. Who the heck has that much fruit that they will eat within 24 hours... Because washing fruit more than a day before you eat it... allows bacteria to grow on it anyway.

Even with vinegar please don’t wash your fruits and veg in the dishwasher. The vinegar can not kill everything! Even though it’s a dishwasher, bacteria and food particles can still build up inside of it. Just put your fruit and veg in a colander, spray them with some Fit or other fruit and veg wash, and rinse with cold water. 😉👍🏻 Oh, and you don’t have to add water to the pan with your pizza. Just put the slice in, put the heat on medium low-medium, and put a top on it. The heat will melt the cheese, and the crust will stay crispy instead of soggy, and moist. Who the heck wants a moist crust? 🤢
@shovanabajracharya3 ай бұрын
No, we need to add water in the pan after heating it for a few minutes. Without water the crust burns on the bottom and we don't get the top cheese melted much. The water creates just enough steam to recook the whole thing thoroughly. It won't create moist crust.

The proper way to peel a banana is to do it like monkeys do. Instead of breaking the stem at the top of the banana like most humans do, usually resulting in a not so easy peel or squishing the top of the banana turning it into a bruised gooey mess, turn the banana upside down and give the bottom a little pinch. The bottom tip splits right open and makes it super easy to make the perfect peel. Monkey see, monkey do. 👍😁

The best ketchup hack is to take the medium cup lid and the second medium cup lid turn one one way turn the other the other way and then stack them back on top of each other press them back together then put your ketchup on that much better and it's not flimsy so your catch up will not end up in the floor. And as for the pizza you can do that with a microwave taking old plastic grocery bag recently got put your paper plate inside the bag and put your slice of pizza on the paper plate take a paper towel put it under the faucet get it slightly wet fold it up and stick it under your plate in the bag full of the bag under the plate so that way it's semi-closed and held closed by the weight of the plate activate your microwave for about one and a half minutes and that will Revitalize your pizza the same way as with a skillet

0:01 - [Narrator] We all have our favorite way of doing things, 0:03 but many of us are making the usage of everyday things 0:06 a lot harder for ourselves than we realize. 0:09 From the most efficient way to eat fast food 0:11 to the only way you should be washing fruit, 0:14 get ready for your mind to be blown 0:16 as I reveal a whole ton of things 0:17 you never realized you've been doing wrong. 0:26 Big Mac Balancing Act. 0:29 Fast food is an easy and convenient option 0:31 when you're on the go. 0:32 The bonus being that it's usually dangerously delicious. 0:36 We all know that a McDonald's takeout 0:37 is one of life's simplest pleasures, 0:39 but eating one on the move isn't always the easiest task. 0:43 Whether it be whilst walking or in your car, 0:45 the absence of a table 0:47 can end with your Big Mac and fries looking like a big mess. 0:50 But it turns out there is a right way 0:52 to eat Mickey D's on the go. 0:54 First, you flip open the burger or nugget box 0:57 and place it on top of your drink, 0:59 poking the straw up through the fold of the box. 1:02 Next, fill the empty side of the box with your fries 1:05 and voila, you have your very own 1:07 instant fast food trough to eat from, 1:10 face first if you wish to literally pig out. 1:13 While it may look a little gimmicky, 1:14 it has been touted as the ultimate hack 1:17 by the guys at the Golden Arches themselves. 1:19 Easy, delicious, and a little shameful, 1:22 just as every McDonald's meal should be. 1:26 Clean of the Crop. 1:28 After diving face first into fast food, 1:30 now it's time for something a little healthier. 1:33 You might be shocked to find out 1:34 that you've been washing fruit 1:36 completely wrong this whole time. 1:38 Most people wash fruit individually under running water, 1:42 but turns out that running them 1:43 through a cold dishwasher cycle is just as effective 1:46 and washes all your fruit and veg at once. 1:49 While the idea of washing fruit 1:51 through a soap-filled dishwasher cycle 1:53 sounds very unhealthy, 1:54 don't worry, there are no suds to be seen with this method. 1:57 The secret is to add some distilled white vinegar, 2:00 also known as acetic acid, 2:02 into the tab tray which acts as a disinfectant 2:05 that can eliminate bacteria and viruses. 2:08 You might think this dishwasher method 2:09 would result in a big old smoothie, 2:11 but it really does work with each piece of fruit 2:14 making it through the washing whirl. 2:16 To protect more delicate items, such as kiwis and grapes, 2:19 place them on the top rack 2:21 and put heavier produce like melons and pineapples 2:23 on the bottom. 2:24 If that wasn't enough, turns out your dishwasher 2:27 can do a whole host of things you'd never imagined, 2:29 including steaming salmon fillets in tightly sealed foil 2:32 by running them through a cycle with your dirty dishes 2:34 for a no hassle dinner. 2:36 The hero of kitchen appliances, 2:38 looks like the dishwasher is well and truly cleaning up 2:42 when it comes to multi-tasking talents. 2:45 Fruit Pursuit. 2:47 Now that our fruit is squeaky clean, 2:49 it's time to serve it up. 2:51 But chances are, you're probably doing that wrong too. 2:54 Watermelon slices are a refreshing treat 2:56 on a hot summer's day, 2:58 but preparing these little triangles of joy 3:00 can be pretty time-consuming. 3:02 Instead of messing around 3:03 with complicated slicing techniques, 3:05 why not opt for the easiest chopping method possible 3:07 that also cuts out any fuss with presentation? 3:10 Start by slicing the watermelon in half 3:13 and laying one flat side on a cutting board. 3:15 Then, slice the half melon 3:17 from one side to the other at even intervals, 3:19 followed by cutting in the opposite direction, 3:22 forming cuboid-shaped chunks. 3:24 And there you have it, 3:25 watermelon sticks that are easy to eat 3:27 and can be served as is. 3:29 Another sweet skill to add 3:31 to your culinary carving arsenal now. 3:33 Most people just cut strawberries like this, 3:35 but this really isn't the most effective way 3:37 to get the most berry for your buck. 3:40 Cutting the tops off wastes a good amount of the strawberry 3:42 and also leaves behind some of the worst bits of the fruit. 3:45 While most attention is given to removing the stalk, 3:48 most people don't realize 3:49 that strawberries can have quite a tough inner core 3:52 and not removing this 3:53 can result in an eating experience that's not berry good. 3:56 The best way to serve up the most succulent strawbs 3:59 is to use none other than a straw. 4:02 All it takes is a quick poke 4:03 and the stalk and core are removed just like that. 4:06 Not only does this method work like a treat, 4:08 it's also super satisfying 4:10 to watch the core slide out of the straw. 4:12 Now that's a whole new reason to call them strawberries. 4:17 Perfect Prep.

The idea of using the dishwasher with vinegar for vegis/fruit is sound - and the vinegar can also assist with mineral deposits. However, I don't intend to get a DW just so I can wash fruit. But I WILL get another jug of distilled vinegar. (A friend suggested using it on black mold areas in the basement, rather than bleach. It does help, it's safer, but not as dramatically effective as bleach.) Add vinegar to baking soda and it's FUN - says my inner 9-year-old self! :D

Black mould is best treated with clove oil. It can be very dangerous. Bleach doesn't kill just removes the colour. Clove oil kills the spores. Paint on liberally and leave for a day or so (SMELLY BUT NOT DANGEROUS) and then go back with your bleach to remove the colour. I hope that helps xx

I've used those hammers with the nail slot in it and yes it may be handy for not hitting your fingers of course but you'd be surprised how difficult it can be to accurately hit your mark because the human eye can't pinpoint things with laser accuracy, the only way to get it pinpoint is by holding the nail and being careful haha.
@peterpuke28412 жыл бұрын
Yeah, at first it looked like I was about to throw my old hammer to the trash bin and run to my closest hardware store to buy a new one with this indentation but then I've had the same thought that it would be very difficult to nail it on the first try (no pun intended), it maybe work great for those people with a higher dexterity but I see myself poking holes on my wood with that.
@orionma54252 жыл бұрын

If you do a part 2, you should include the proper way to wear a travel neck pillow. Turning it around so that the gap is in the back is soooo much more comfortable! Also, to get the bitterness out of prematurely picked cucumbers, cut off one end and immediately rub it on the end of the cucumber you just cut from, so that a white foam comes out. Do this for about a minute, and repeat on the other end. The bitterness will be significantly reduced (not always completely gone, especially if the insides are green instead of white, but it does help!). Then you can peel and eat a much tastier cucumber!

11:12 but that's tangerine, tangerines are easier to pull apart this way than oranges, but I've learn a good way to eat oranges from school. Slice the orange in half, preferably use sharp knife so you don't make a mess, put it on any surface you're cutting it on with that flat and juicy part up and cut it in shape of x or +, not all the way down so the 4 pieces are still connected, unfold/spread (Idk what term is better) the 4 pieces apart and ta-da, it looks good and you can eat it more easily PS: I hope everyone understands, I'm gonna make a video on my chanel if someone doesn't understand

Here’s my hack for reheating just about everything,and it works like a charm. Take an electric skillet with a glass lid and fill it so the liquid covers the bottom twice over. Place your meal on a standard ceramic plate and place it into the skillet on top of the water. Place the lid so that each side intersects with the corners of the skillet leaving a space for some steam to escape and turn the skillet to 300 degrees. Check the progress frequently until desired temperature is reached. This method is great for reheating pizza and a far superior way to heat leftovers. No more dry food, from microwaving your meals thus eliminating a lot of the moisture. Note: If you want a crispy crust on your pizza, remove the pizza right when the cheese begins to melt, remove the plate using two forks split apart on each side, remove the water from the skillet, coat with butter, and put your pizza directly on the hot skillet surface, put the lid on correctly and cook until desired crispness.
