The "keep learning" aspect is key. I got "buried" on an Open MR system for 20+ years. When the bottom fell out post-COVID-19 I got laid off and found that finding Highfield (1.5T - 3T) MRI work to be very difficult. Keep yourself current and if that means leaving... so be it, it's for your own good. Perhaps if you could finagle your way into a situation where you could volunteer or even be a Tech-Aide (and get paid) it could go a long way for you in contacts and acquired knowledge.

I’m in MRI school. We are taught to ask the patient before you touch them if it’s ok. Only touch them with their approval. Instruct the patient where you will touch them and why. If you explain them and you stick to what you tell them the patient will be fine with it 99%. Don’t let this 1% issue be what turns you off the career because it’s not really an issue.

However, I'm really passionate about the medical field in particular and do a bit better in that area of study. I know IQ isn't everything and hard work pays off. Having said all that, is the school work difficult to do to become an MRI tech? Is there a lot of math involved and intricacies about how to interpret results and work the with machines for example, or how does the general course work look like? I've been considering an MRI technologist or sonographer as career prospects

Hi, I’m new to your channel. Started watching couple videos of yours. Very interesting by the way. However, I’ve currently started researching about MRI. I currently have my bachelor in health care administration and unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a job. At one point I was planning going back to school for nursing but started to realize that it was going to take me longer and the program is on wait list. MRI is something new for me which also sounds pretty interesting to me. I’m going to be straight up. I’m looking for something that is short term that I don’t have to be in school for another 3-4 years and pays good overtime. And it seems that MRI is good for me. However, what’s confusing is about obtaining a job, once done I believe I saw in your comment that they will want you you to be X-ray certified and CT certified and MRI certified. Which I search and it seems that those are three different programs. In addition, I also saw in one of your videos you mentioned about the types of certification. To conclude I believe you mentioned MRI tech is to go first, and have the school provide for AART and AMRIT. As a person who is just finding about this role in the medical field. What should I do first? By the way I have an zoom video with CNI college and CSUN and will love to know what focus. Thank you.

Thanks for watching my channel and reaching out! Well theirs basically 2 ways to get into radiology. The first way is going to a community college and getting in the radiologic technologist program. Once you complete that you become a xray technologist. If you want to do MRI or CT your must get certified threw the ARRT (Clinical hours and a registry test for MR). If you want to skip xray, you could goto school for MRI threw a private school like Casa loma college in van nuys. That program is MRI ARRT CERTIFIED as well as ARMRIT. The only thing is as a MR ARRT they don't let you become certified in xray or CT. You would basically have to go threw the rad program at a community college because the last time I checked they didn't want to accept my private school credits or degree. Let me know if you have anymore questions mritechlife@gmail.com or @therealmriman instagram

@@MRIMan Hey man. I just recently bumped into your video. I would like to know about MRI Tech. I originally wanted to be an Anesthesiologist but the doctor route and lifestyle wasn't for me. I need a career to get myself going soon. The poster above Sean, he is going through the same thing as me. We both have Associates. I just need a career going. I'm getting older and I don't have time to pursue a Bachelor's when I don't have any interest in the fields requiring it. I have an Associates in Social Sciences & Humanties and I've taken a couple general ed classes for Radiology Tech so there isn't many classes that I have to take left. I was thinking of Anesthesiologist Assistant since it's close to being an Anesthesiologist (MD) but it's not available in NY and it takes too long to pursue that career. My only option is Rad Tech. Still a health career and it's close to being an Anesthesiologist excepting for sedating patients but you're still interacting with them. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. It wouldn't take me long to do Rad Tech as I've already gotten my Associates. Would only have to take a couple classes left. I lost too much time already since I graduated & I was working for almost two years to get experience & I saved money as well.

Hi Iam sorry you are going threw this. A MRI of the abdomen will be a great study for you. A MRI of the abdomen with and without contrast is about 20 to 25min typically. They will start a iv on you and hook you up to a auto injector. Towards the end of the scan they will inject you and scan you at the same time. This exam has breath holds. They will tell you to take in a breath and hold it for 10 to 15 seconds. If its just iv contrast you don't have to drink anything. If it's something called a enterography, you will drink some fluid that will make it easier to see your digestive track. Not sure about the other exams. Have you had a MRI before?

Before that I had obtained an associates degree in science from a other college so they were able to pretty much transfer all of my credits for a majority of the general Ed. I just need to take critical thinking through them. I had to get interviewed by panel of 6 people. That were the directors and professors and stuff like that.
