I love my 2008 IS250. It’s a phenomenal car and I recommended one to my friend. The only weakness I think is the fact that it has a direct injection engine. It’s prone to carbon buildup, but you could clean that up and manage it. You just have to be on top of it. I already checked mine and carbon buildup wasn’t bad. Then I had my mechanic clean it up. Also it’s a little slow and a 350 would be for those who want something a little faster. Either than those things it’s a great car.

Yeah, and those are really solvable issues. I think that for what the car offers and the price it is right now it is a bang for the buck!

@@jeannotolivier9598 not really but I did replace the water pump in the car which cost like $1k because of labor costs. If you’re mechanically inclined, you could probably get it done for less but water pumps can be a challenge and time consuming. Other than that just spark plug changes and basic maintenance isn’t too pricey. It’s not BMW prices thankfully haha

I've had my loaded 2010 IS250 AWD for about 6 months now, and I generally agree with your assessment of it, except for 2 things: 1. Storage ... It does have a very generous sized trunk, but other than that there is virtually NO storage. The glove compartment, console storage and rear armrest storage are minute. The seat-back pockets are undersized. There isn't enough room in the car even to store the 1,000+ pages of manuals that it comes with (and you WILL need those manuals to figure out all the "stuff" it has and how to use it). 2. Cup holders ... You said it has 6 cup holders. Maybe, but only one of them is usable by front seat occupants. The door compartment cup holders are useless. (How you gonna get your big coffee cup in and out of there while you're driving?) The cup holder in the center console is useless. (It takes up almost half of the already undersized center console, but its too big to keep that big coffee cup steady.) There are 2 cup holders in the rear armrest, but only children can fit in that rear seat. Other than that, its very luxurious, it IS fun to drive (especially with the oversized low-profile tires on IS-F wheels, and throaty aftermarket exhaust that mine came with), but it IS slower than I expected. Even my high mileage '98 Volvo S70 GLT is quicker.

Now that you bring it up, I did not pay much attention to that. Coming from the Mini Cooper S to the Lexus I have way much more space so I kinda overlooked it. Also yeah, the cupholders on the doors and the rear I mostly use for empty cups or water bottles and forget about them most of the time.

Well your Volvo has the throttle body that they used in some Lamborghini later on so I wouldn’t be surprised.

I prefer the IS350 because I am used to it. For the 250? It's fast if you're coming from a 4 cylinder Toyota Corolla. Faster for sure, but for me I cannot downgrade because I'm so used to the IS350 speed. Still though...the IS250 is awesome.

Yeah, the slower acceleration took some getting used to, but it is a really good car in all the other departments apart from that one😂

Can i go for this model or i should go for 2014 model of IS? I'm asking cos i like 2014 IS but i don't know the fuel economy of the car how it works and can i compare the fuel economy with that of IS 2012/2013? Please i need an honest answers 🙏

I’m going to post a video about this on Saturday , but the is250 maintained the same engine for the 2014 model so fuel economy shouldn’t be all that different

Great video and I loved the presentation but some corrections. 2009-2010 IS has different style tail lights than 2006-2008 (same as 2011+ but the turn signals were amber rather than clear like your example) and slightly tweaked front bumper than the 2006-2008 with the addition of turn signal mirrors, slight interior improvements, and the newer style navigation system.The 2009-2010 kept the same style headlights from 2006-2008 and then in 2011 for the 2nd refresh it was all new with the L-shaped LED DRL like yours. 2010 and above model years was the start of Bluetooth audio and it was standard so the base, non-navigation head unit has it as well.

@2isadventures (nice screen name) thanks for the correction. I have a 2010 w/o navigation (I think nav dates a car). I like the bluetooth. My next Lexus will have the BSM (blind spot monitor system) since I drove a loaner from the dealership and really appreciated that feature.

Nice ride man! I’ve got a 2012 IS 350, and it’s the best car that I’ve ever owned! Super reliable, and fast! And outside of the routine stuff, in 3 years of ownership, the costs have been super low for it! Can go wrong with a Toyota product!

I don’t know much about those, they never came to where I live in, but what I know is that they are less sportsier than the is250 and the is350. Still most of the other features on it must be the same as the other 2 is’s
