First one - some cops I (unfortunately) know personally have admitted to using flashing your brights as distracting other drivers, hazardous driving, etc. Be selective about time of day. For the riding in the back of a pickup truck, in California, according to CVC 23116 (a) and 23116 (b), it is illegal to ride in the back of a pickup truck unless if the bed is equipped with seatbelts, which means you need to have separate seating there with seatbelts. Also for the swearing at a cop, while it is legal, it could make the difference between the cop letting you off with a warning and the cop writing you a ticket, and it could also make the difference between a judge throwing out your ticket and a judge convicting you of the offense, so while it is legal it doesn’t make it smart.

just posting blatantly false information huh? First of all, the police are NOT allowed to just arrest you for anything as long as you get a fair trial. Otherwise an “unlawful arrest” wouldnt exist, yet it clearly does and normal citizen’s tax dollars pay towards the settlement/restitution when an unlawful arrest occurs and is challenged in court. Not to mention, its literally a violation of civil rights to be arrested without a proper reason. Second, in EVERY state in the US, a police officer does not have to know the laws that they enforce. Their training is a laughable 3-5 months in most places, and theres no possible way to learn all the laws in that time frame, especially when you realize that the academy is training them on firearms use, department regulations and rules, etc…and not the actual laws. Theres a reason law school takes 6-8 years to become a lawyer, because it takes THAT LONG to properly learn all of the laws!

@redTanto it isn't that deep dawg. If a police officer has done nothing to disrespect me, I'm not going to disrespect them for no reason. Same way I would treat any other human being. I was in North Wildwood, NJ with my mom. We went to the beach when it was light, then hit some mini golf when it got darker. There was a group of at least 4 older teens a hole or too ahead of us. When we were almost finished, I watched them all celebrate to their truck, hop in the truck bed, and peel out of there. We soon finished the course and got in our car to drive to our hotel. We passed them on the side of the road pulled over by a cop

I just remembered something. Did you know that seatbelts being a widely accepted thing is more recent than you'd think? You can look it up if you want, but it wasn't until around the 1980s that seatbelts (and speed limits) were an accepted thing. Car manufacturers fought against including seatbelts in their vehicles for decades, and the general public was like "Seatbelts!! I don't need no seatbelts. Are you insinuating that I'm a bad driver?" Just watch some movies from the 1960s and you'll probably notice the sentiment from the people of the time that people thought "I should be able to drive as fast as I want whenever I want, and I don't need to wear a damn seatbelt." Even better, it was actually mentioned in a Simpsons episode where Homer buys a car without seatbelts and expresses a negative sentiment towards seatbelts.
