Hey Chris, huge fan, watched all your videos, practice the ideas. Quick question: does Barry ever talk about bass lines or how/why to play bass lines? If you listen to someone like Joe Pass, he’s great at adding bass lines into his solo playing, and I wondered if Barry had anything to say about this? Thank you!

This was very interesting. Is the IV minor always seen as a bVII Dominant instead of just a IV minor 6? In this case compared to Bb minor 6 which is Bb Db F and G, you'd have Eb dominant which is Bb Db Eb and G, which is the 1,3,4, and 6 of the Bb minor. I guess if you kept it as a IV minor you could still play with the family (Bb minor 6, G minor 6, E minor 6, and C# minor 6 , which are all 6 on the 5s of the dominant family you used). *Edit:* I see the point for Barry is that he likes emphasizing the 4 of the minor chord as a chord tone (10:30)

Interesting if I think of that Eb7 as the Edim then that diminished chord could be the diminished of many different 6th diminished scales. Not sure ATM but a number. Theres B, F, D, and Ab to name some. Maybe thats it since there are 3 diminished chords and 12 notes. That would be 4 for each of them I guess?

Interesting each of the 3 diminished possible will have 2 different resolutions for each of the four dominants. b7 to 1 and 5 to 1.

Great video as always chris! Just wondering what scale you might use if the IV to iv (or IV to bVII7) lasts just one bar (2 beats per chord)?
