I hope I can use this channel to help other musicians who are interested in Jazz but find it a little too cerebral. I think Barry's method, while being cerebral, is also direct and most important beautiful. Great video, you mentioned Barry would create 15 different variations of navigating the bridge, i love the examples maybe more would be nice!

Cool first thing I tried different from that first phrase was the same but instead of the going up the diminished there, I pivoted it. Nice.

A couple of episodes back you mentioned the important chords for blues were the fifth seventh and tonic I'm wondering why not the third minor 7 b5 cord ?

Great lesson breakdown!…I was wondering if I could instead play on those Maj7 chords, Maj6 Barry Harris scales? or is there a rule on when to think of a Imaj as Maj7 or Maj6?

Is the Minor 6 scale you are playing up here just melodic minor? Or are you playing minor 6th Diminished?
