Cedric (Kevin Hart) explains the type of modern manhood.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
This adaptation of Steve Harvey's non-fiction relationship advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man focuses on six friends who regularly get together to play basketball, and usually are commiserating about women issues. Jeremy (Jerry Ferrara) is a geeky pothead and comic-book obsessive whose career is stuck in neutral and who won't pop the question to his girlfriend of nine years. Zeke (Romany Malco) is a former musician-turned-businessman who is great at picking up the ladies but can't commit to a long-term relationship. Michael (Terrence J) is good looking and charming, but his mother still has him wrapped around her finger and doesn't want to let him go. Dominic (Michael Ealy) keeps changing career goals, and while he's an excellent chef, he hasn't found a way to make it pay. And short, motormouthed Cedric (Kevin Hart) is in the midst of a divorce and can't wait to be free of his wife. Nerdy but well-meaning Bennett (Gary Owen) is the only one in a functioning relationship, and he gets a lot of grief from his buddies for his happy marriage.

The MAMA’s boy situation has me BAFFLED. In less than 4 months of dating, He canceled BEACH Day because his Mom needed him. She’s UPSET. If HER Mom needed HER, it’s too BIG DEAL. It’s Canceled. When his Mom’s event at the CHURCH, he had committed to it. But HER Mom is having the Reunion in the park at the same day. SHE wants him to give up the day at the church to be with HER Mom’s event. If the same SITUATION was FLIPPED, would she have broken her commitment to her MOM and came to his family reunion? NO NO NO, Men do what they have to do. Women do what they want to do. And MEN are realizing it.

A man leaves his father and mother to cleave to his wife...simple. Marriage is not for the immature. If he still has to play the role of substitute husband for his mom, it's going to be a problem...that's why she hated all the women he brings and sees them as a threat. You should love your mum, and see her but there is a line. In the end, when she got a man of her own, she no longer cared for his presence which showed he had just been filling a spot in her life before. Mama's boys make the mistake of thinking they have to play husband/baby rolesin their mother's lives. They don't. If she's lonely, she needs a man in hers.

As a Mom, I agree with this statement! My oldest is 25 and he has a girlfriend that DOESN’T have a Mom. She doesn’t understand his calling me and saying I love you.
