Marciano beat everyone in front of him. He also retired undefeated at the right time unlike every other heavyweight who unretired or stayed in too long like Ali. It is always a chess game as a boxer and those who played it right were the real champs. It’s better to retire and be healthy than get your head punched in get brain disease so you cant enjoy life.

Gentleman Jim Corbett best ever for me Ray, not a heavy weight but in a time where you got thrown in among people 30,40lbs heavier than you Gentleman Jim was one hell of a fighter and one of the most skilled ever in my opinion (everything taken into account) also Jack Johnson was one of the most naturally gifted "FIGHTERS" ever! The time he got hit over the head with a metal bar and still fought on says it all about him and the times but Rocky Marciano was my old man's favourite Boxer/FIGHTER and always cornered the arguement for him being best heavyweight ever and being that he was by far NOT a True heavyweight! Graciano was also one of his favourites (style wise!) I always liked Nigel Benn and the fight with Iran Barkley was one of my memories and earliest memory with my dad was watching Minter Vs Hagler and the Ray Leonard Vs Duran fights...gotta give a shout out to Cotto aswell 👍🏼 take care Ray lad and dont forget that "BANG BANG" HILL WAS/IS PART OF BRITISH UNDERWORLD FOLK LAW (to people that know)😊

Some say marciano never had that comeback because he didnt want to fight liston, if thats true i dont blame him😊
@julianmorris9951
@julianmorris9951 14 күн бұрын
Marciano said that he went into a training camp for a comeback but he felt different after the layoff, he said he didn’t have it anymore and if the great Joe Louis couldn’t do then he knew he couldn’t, or words to that effect, so Marciano did try to comeback but realised it was futile, a wise man indeed, apart from cheaping out on a flight that killed him.

@@user-mi5op4si9b well yeah he probably did, he retired in 1956 and went back into training in 59 which would have been a fight against johansson, but like Marciano said, he realised he wasn’t that man anymore, you can’t have 4 years off and come back, also everything moves forwards, heavyweights got bigger in a short space of time, on another topic where the hell is the footage of Harry greb fighting!!!!!🤨 that’s the most puzzling thing that there isn’t any 🙃 what you think on that?

Who do people here think would win rocky marciano or two ton toney gallento thats a serious question not a joke, marciano had arguably the best ever right hook and gallento arguably the best left and knocked joe louis down when louis was at his best and brawled like marciano. Personally i think Rocky in the ring but on street Gallento believe it or not,he was by Rocky's own admission the roughest toughest Street fighter in all of professional Boxing 🥊 in an interview with Jackie Gleeson. Gallento was 5' 7" and weighed 17 stone
