I am a long haul truck driver. When comming to Canada I did what you suggested, I came alone leaving my wife and daughter in Germany. My take home pay bi-weekly was about 2500 CAD, and I told my wife over a skype call that we might struggle with 5 000 CAD (after taxes) living in Winnipeg. Here in Germany my take home pay is 2900 euro, and it seems that in Europe money goes a little further. My percetion was that money was like water in Canada. Being back in Germany for a year and a half, I am trying to convince my wife that we should considder going bac to Canada. Why? Yes, Germany is easier to live in on a truck driver salary, but our experience as South African immigrants are that Germans are not very friendly and welcomming to immigrants. In Canada your finances will be a little more challenging, but I miss the friendlyness and warmth of Canadians. So, I guess there are always trade-offs when considdering countries we can immigrate to.

What does a typical suburban house cost in Nigeria , in Canada it will be starting at a million dollars CAD, on top of that you have yearly property taxes between 6 and 12 thousand… this is why each year the percent of the population renting instead of owning increases… today nearly half of Canadians rent and don’t own… I was born here and yet I’m moving to China , everything in Canada is sold from like 10 major businesses so they make it stupidly expensive, my advice is take the money you would have used to come here and instead invest it in your business in Nigeria, if you really think you love Canada , visit first and stay for a few months first

Thank you, there's a lot of "Don't come to (inseet country)" videos about these days. This one gives a very valid point about coming first to scout the place and probably getting a job before bringing your family. However, there is a lot of nuance in people's experience in Canada, I think a video that explains the economic situation and how best to navigate it will taste better than a thinly veiled threat. It matters a lot which season you come in, what degrees or experience you have, how able you are to get certifications, and status of immigration (students or PR). Not everyone does a McDonald job. Not everyone gets a minimum wage job. Not to mention that Nigerian groups and online fora discuss buying and sharing meat and tonatoes instead of income opportunities. After a few months of adjusting, it got good pretty fast for me. Adequate info is better than fear.

GOD has absolutely NOTHING to do with moving ANYWHERE. FIRST ...find out what EVERYTHING costs in Canada .....EVERYTHING. If you don't know how to do this FIRST step .......THEN DON'T GO TO CANADA!!!!! SECOND, IF you were able to find out how much EVERYTHING costs in Canada.....THEN ....CAN YOU AFFORD TO LIVE IN CANADA .......ON YOUR OWN MONEY? If you can't ......THEN DON'T GO TO CANADA!!!! THIRD, IF you have enough money to live in Canada then great. IF you do NOT have enough money ....can you get a job in Canada BEFORE you go? IF you can't have a job already to go to in Canada ....THEN DON'T GO TO CANADA!! FOURTH, IF you can get a job to go to in Canada, will this job fully financially support you in Canada? If "yes" then great! If NOT .......THEN DON'T GO TO CANADA. Now how difficult was that to figure out? .

@emuesiriolili-uhrorho6960 you aren't getting my point. There is a psychology behind how to put out content that would still say there is hope but be aware that it isn't a piece of cake. His video sounds like don't come at all. If it isn't easy, then he too should be back home. There is no place you go to in the world that at the initial it won't be tough, it is normal . Except if you come in as an expatriate or diplomat. I believe everybody is aware of that. And we all are also aware of the various changes in Canada. My own is don't discourage immigration dreams just advise positively. We all know Diaspora life isn't so easy. But it is better than where we are coming from

That the global north is better is a perception. I see myself better in Africa. I have never been to America or Europe. Best place I have been is only South Africa but , considering the cold , distance and many controls up there, aiiii, I am fine here.

Seriously, I don't know how newcomers will survive in Canada of 2024. You cannot get a house for less than 750k in Toronto, except for shoebox apartments. I can't afford to buy a house in Toronto. Where are the jobs? You pay income tax and still pay 13% tax on all purchases. How much do you have left? The funds you want to relocate with should be used to hustle in Nigeria, you can buy a 2nd passport when your finances are great.
