In this Video, I will show you how to setup your Thinking Particles Workflow so you can read out TP values, set the Particle Scale using each Particle's relative age and use that to control the size of MoGraph Cloners.

there are different ways, but it all depends on what kind of Crowd sim you need. We don't have a way to make "intelligent" crowds, but depending on the complexity of the "agent" and the number, something could be concocted together. If you provide some sort of visual sample I could be more specific.

I would love to help, but I have no idea what the problem is. Please make a simple scene with ONLY the necessary elements if you want me to take a look. Otherwise it's impossible to troubleshoot anything.
