Those all look like wonderful boots for the spring. I like them all. The White's with the christy sole will be great for mowing the lawn. No sole is more comfy and useful for yard work. (Best to have a decent heal for ladder work, though.) We had snow and we're having a big freeze in the Northeast. It's a time for thick wool socks and lined boots with traction, warm johns and heavy sweaters, and don't forget my Filson mackinaw cruiser. Looking forward to warmer weather and the shoes and boots that'll go with it. Thank you for an awesome spring preview. 😊

@@nateeaton1 My son is a big Filson fan. I'd love to lay may hands on the lined boots that Rancourt makes - one of these days!

Cold and snowy here. I’m wearing my Nicks Tankers today. I have some really nice boots that only come out in the good weather. But I like wearing my winter clothes. Layering is key.

@@stevecrawford7814 Layering is a big concept in these parts, too. Who needs a parka when three hoodies work just as well?

2 months from today is the official 1st day of spring, wont be swapping my own spring /summer selection till mid April . Lots of snow and ice still on the way but I’ll go leather, flat rubber , cork and wedge soles for the nice weather. Still under deep freeze (-20’c)and a metre and a half of snow in rural Ontario🇨🇦. It’s lugs lugs lugs till then.🤘 It snowed in Texas and Florida’s today!

My friends from Alabama are sharing lots of snow pics on social media. They need dark coyote roughout boots now too! 😀

It was a freezing 69 degrees Fahrenheit the other day. I just had to put on some sunscreen and bear it.

In the summer I dust off my Jim Green Vellies in khaki and the African Rangers in crazy horse.

Thank you! The fact is, I have many, many more pressing responsibilities, so this project is definitely lowtech. Maybe once I retire??

I tend not to wear my Frye Prison boots much in the Winter. Thin leather and cork/nitrile soles don't do well in cold and potentially slippery conditions. Plus, they're really my dress boots, with a grungy twist.
@VirginiaLLewisAuthor7 күн бұрын
@@danceswithbadgers I bet they look nice, though! 😀

@@VirginiaLLewisAuthor They go well with a slim fit trouser. I don't wear suits anymore but do have some good pieces for use with the Fryes - charcoal wool trousers and slim heavyish twill in army green, for example. Slim jeans would work but I haven't worn jeans for a decade, and 66 year-old guys should maybe avoid skinny jeans - not my thing, anyway. My beefier boots overwhelm anything lightweight and slim-fit. They look well with heavy duty canvas railway worker or heavy moleskin fishtail trousers I have, which swamp the Fryes a bit. The Fryes have a narrow waist and low profile soles.

@danceswithbadgers Sounds like a bit of a fashion puzzle!

@@VirginiaLLewisAuthor Yes, a lighter boot is like wearing dress shoes with heavy duty legwear. Similarly, a chunky boot looks ridiculous with a dainty-legged pair of trews.
