Darn Tough extra cushion OTC - my sock of choice for about the last 12 years. I have multiple pairs with thousands of miles on some of them - haven't worn through a single one yet. My liner socks are Injinji toe socks - I have mangled toes due to accident damage and it really helps to "keep 'em separated"....

very clever topic for us boot nerds out there! had been wearing cotton socks of various thickness over the years but recently been swapping those out with wool socks. picked up several pair of goldtoe wool socks from target. boring colors like you mentioned but my pants rarely if ever ride up for my socks to be visible. would enjoy some color though if i had the option.

@@drewengles4477 It seems like wool is the preferred option, with maybe a little alpaca thrown in 😀

I recently recommended the channel by Jillian Eve. In one of her videos, she has lots of information on a traditional sock factory situated in the USA. They even have a number of socks every year, which have been designed by their factory workers, and which support the food bank with every single pair sold. Their socks are made for a variety of activities, also for hiking and for working outdoors. I'll try to find the video again and then I'll let you know. Yet at the moment, I only have an old smart phone to go online with. And having issues with my sight, it might take some time to find it.

@@lisasternenkind6467 I think I may have read about that sock designer - is she in Alabama? I look forward to learning what you find out!

I only wear wool socks. Never tried Alpaca but will soon. I actually bought some boots a half size up so I can wear heavy socks in the winter.

I'm not sure if alpaca holds up the same, I think it's usually blended with wool. But it sure is comfortable!!

I mostly wear wool socks (although not all are 100% wool), even in the summer, and I’m in Texas. I purchased them all online from a variety of companies, my favorite probably being DarnTough, at least for thicker socks, and Pantherella for thin dressy socks, which I often wear doubled up (knee high).
