Thinking football is like a Martin Scorsese film. You watch it, love it, then watch it again.

Why aren’t you a coach? I truly want to know. You have so much understanding of the game. How did you learn this all in the first place

Great question + how much film does he watch

He should have interviewed for the West Virginia job

It’s probably a team of people, and also it’s way easier to review film than make your own game plans when the opposing coordinator is trying to stop you. A lot of this stuff is simple for anyone who played college ball

I used too but Researching/writing/editing for the channel takes up a substantial part of my week and is my full time job, so very little hours left to coach - although if the right job became available I'd definitely be keen. I also live in London, so it's unlikely anyone here would pay me to coach. Other members of the team do coach though! How did I learn so much? Coaching, books, tape studying, basically just being a gigantic football nerd.

Awesome video, as always. First noticed something like this when the Vikings and Lions played in week 7. Detroit was using this kind of motion to neutralize some of Minnesota's aggressiveness, especially on the edges.

Some of these run schemes have been dominating the NAIA for example KWU in the KCAC used to base their entire offense around a Y insert back in 2022 and 2023

All concepts filter upwards in football Whatever HS is doing now, college will be doing in 3 years, and whatever college is doing, the NFL will be copying very soon

lol, the FB is dead in the NFL, but the NFL isn’t done with having a FB

I would like to try this in madden nfl 25 but they don't let you snap the ball until the receiver has finished his motion.

Just have the cornerback that was on the Wr that motioned blitz which is known as a green dog and you should have eneough in the run fits

It’s not about the gaps it’s about the leverage and the usage against the pass Cornerbacks already scrape exchange and take the gap of the safety, the problem is when yo do it from off or catch coverage you are asking a player to tracker a smaller person from depth.
@ThinkingFootball3 сағат бұрын
But what gap are they filling? You can't just send them off the edge as that's usually already guarded Fitting your CB inside is just asking for trouble And if it's PA, now nobodies guarding that inserted player
@patek9789Сағат бұрын
@@ThinkingFootball They can fill either the B gap or A gap depending on where the motion Wr went and if it’s a PA you can do a push call if it’s a quarters or palms type of coverage
@ThinkingFootballСағат бұрын
@@patek9789 You wanna fit your corner through the A gap? Good luck with that. If they're in a match coverage - then someone el;se needs to drop out of the box to take their role in the match.

As great as this video was, and it was great...not one single clip of Buffalo's offense when they've been maybe one of the most efficient at making use of the insert on duo & counter runs, with a chance to show some love to some DOG WRs at run blocking in Mack Holline & Khalil Shakir! Seriously though, great video!
