I think that, by describing the function of the Anima to the male, and of the Animus to the female, and linking them to the mother and father figures in their lives, Jung didn't say, what was deemed obvious during his lifetime - that everybody has a leading side, which is male or female, which is defined by who the person is born as, biologically (genetically). Jung, in this (audio)book, mentions, that the more a figure is unconscious, the more power it has. Therefore, the mother plays a greater role for the male, because she represents the unconscious anima in him. For the female, the "anima" side is obvious and therefore has less power over her, while the animus is hidden, making the father figure more powerful for her.

I am curious as to how all this works with the children of same-sex couples or single parents because it seems to me like the anima and the animus are completely a priori, which would mean all types of binary gendered roles in general and gendered parental roles are a priori. So, what happens to the son of two gay men or the daughter of a single mother about their anima or animus? I don't mean to reject this stuff, I'm honestly a newbie to jungian psychology and am simply curious.
@Apollo440

I recently found out about such a relationship: The mother is single during the son's lifetime. He finds a girl, from a family with a strong father, she herself being very masculine in behaviour (likes to argue, has a logical mindset, takes challenges head on instead of avoiding trouble intuitively, as a woman would). Now, the mother cannot release the son, playing the role of a victim and totally dominating his life, stealing wherever she can, the attention of him (from his girlfriend) and also receiving financial help (she goes on vacation instead of the guy and his girlfriend). From this, as well from other observations, I presume, that whatever the relationship of the parents is missing, the daughter or son will try to compensate through another relationship. I.e. the lack of a mother figure will make the child leaning to a strongly feminine relationship, and vice versa. But this is strictly my seeing of the matter, loosely based on what little I know from Jung's learnings, which are also pretty new to me.

I was never really convinced the elites knew about the Cosmic Trigger until I saw Jung use the word Szyzygy in his book Aion. And then it was obvious. The Nicene Creed was just code for one really bad day in your near future.
@kenmcclellan

@@Reiman33 There is precious little you won't understand if you say the words slowly. The word is Szyzygy in the time of the Aion (a time that began for us with the birth of Saturn on Halloween of 2012). An alignment of celestial objects to be considered the Holy Trinity. The alignment will be of three or four objects. One is a blue star known by the ancients as Father or Mother. One is a giant planet known as the Son of God if you look in your most ancient texts (Sanchoniathon for instance). One is a red star known as Mother or Son depending on whom you read. One is our Sun that was sometimes known as the Mother or the Son (again depending on whom you read). The secret is from the 1st Council of Constantinople: "And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spake by the prophets." Again, think szyzygy. Blue Star has Jupiter in a tidal lock and is on the outside (his orbit is 14 years whereas Jupiter is about 12). Sun lines up with us as well about mid-February. Which leaves the pupil in the Eye of God, the red star that has Venus in a tidal lock. Who proceeds from the Father and the Son? The Son of Man. The red star that has a special relationship with Orion and the 1st Point of Aries. Seek the wisdom of the Maya or Ojuelos de Jalisco. The Vatican will never tell you.

Can you say in plain terms what you're talking about?
@kenmcclellan
@kenmcclellan 9 ай бұрын
I can try. Robert Anton Wilson wrote a trilogy called Cosmic Trigger. In Vol 3, he suggests that on the big day, Sirius will nova. It's like the point of the religions, the secret reason for vesica piscis designs and all that. Jung was also an illuminati. In his book, he talks about a gathering of the planets. Jesus does the same when he talks about the next seven months between the Queen of the South rising in judgment and the Sign of Jonas. In the Filioque of the Nicene Creed, there is a suggestion that the Holy Spirit will "proceed from the Father and the Son." And that's an incredibly old notion that a celestial object we haven't seen in thousands of years is about to appear between Saturn and Jupiter. Probably what Jesus referred to, saying: if I be lifted up from the Earth, I will draw all men unto me.@@ayesha8809

Did Jung incorporate Freud's Oedipal complex into his Archetypes? Did Freud address Jung's understanding of Animus and Anima Archtypes ? In my mind, the ideal Psychoanalyst would incorporate these primary Theories into an integrated Analysis. Freud and Jung ought to be unified, or minimally, not divided. Am I speaking from my Anima, or Animus? LOL

No, you're just speaking on subjects you so clearly know NOTHING about! Jung advancements in Psychology/ Analytical Psychology far outweigh anything Freud ever achieved / gave to Humanity! Jung was conscious of ALL of Freud's theories and incorporated the TRUE one's into his own Psychology, into his own SELF. And It's simply Anima IF you're Male and Animus if you're Female. You don't have both dumb dumb. Please educate yourself before trying to sound the smart ass! Thank you.

Near the end I feel like he starts to dwell on his bitterness with arguing with women. I can relate to it but I think it might be socially reinforced. I do believe men tend to be more object oriented and women more people oriented. It might be that women are less likely to tell their more entitled peers to toughen up growing up. Ive been on KZbin long enough to see men acting extremely stubbornly and irrationaly when presented with information and women who are quite stoic. Im listening to a podcast about Simone Weil and she seems quite rational and open minded. It might be that women are better off incorporating Baruch Spinoza's idea that you need positive emotion to counter negative emotion. Instead of shrugging it off like someone inured to boyish jargon or who sees it as part of the objective world. Like someone would shrug off rain. Ironically. I feel Carl Jung is projecting. I don't think women are exclusively closed off to it.

I hope I understand you correctly, that being said, I think you misunderstand what Jung is saying: He doesn't mean, as I see it, that men have one set of values, and women have the other. He simply calls a set of values as being male or female, by their statistical occurence. Let's say, male are more logic thinking, and female are more intuitive. This doesn't mean that there are no intiution-forward men, no. This simply means, that, because of the biological role of a female, she has to be intuitive, so not to put herself and the children in danger. Male has to use logic in problem solving and warfare. Remember, that Jung came up with many of his theories by observation of "uncivilized" tribes, where the male-female roles are distinctly split up.
