Das weckt so viele Erinnerungen. Danke für die wunderbare Reise. Meine erste Reise über den Brennerpass war 1961, und zwar in einem auto - Opel Record, der sich mühsam über den Pass quälte. Wir waren neidisch, als wir die Fertigstellung der ersten Bauarbeiten der Nord-Süd-Autobahn sahen.

Unless your locomotive can switch between 15,000 V 16.67 Hz AC and 3,000 V DC, you have to change locomotives at the Brenner border station. I believe ÖBB's _Railjet_ trains that run between Vienna and Italian destinations use such multi-voltage locomotives. It will be quite interesting to see how they handle the change between 15 kV 16.67 Hz AC and 3,000 V DC when the Brenner Base Tunnel opens in 2032.

The locomotive in this video can run in both countries. The base tunnel itself will actually use 25kV 50Hz on the Italian side (like all new built high-speed lines in Italy, and even some branch lines in the future, like eg. Meran-Mals).
