Pete, recently Schwab forced us Streetsmart Edge users to migrate our platforms over to Thinkorswim. I just wanted to thank you very much for such a great tutorial series. I had my flex grid set-up and it's elements detached as I need to see them on my screen by the shift of the eye and not by click because I'm a scalp trader. But I had remaining issues with my charts. Your walk-through of the general tab and the price axis and time axis tabs was instrumental and resolved my remaining issues perfectly. Thanks for taking the time and hardwork to help us. Great job! Jake

thank you sir, very comprehensive and well articulated walk through of this program... Schwab forced us to give up SSE and its become a bit harrowing trying to get comfortable with TOS. Your 3 part tutorial relieved about 75% of my anxiety. Now the trial and error remains for me to simulate my old charts on this platform. Thanks again for your wonderful effort here!

Thanks for your feedback. I am very happy to know this video series was helpful. I know exactly what you are going through and I know the process can be very frustrating and difficult. I am sure that many other Schwab clients are going through the same thing and many of them may not have discovered my training material yet. Please do your best to get the word out so others can get through this transition with less pain and suffering.

is there a tutorial specifically for the 'web' platform? or should I get a desk top for trading
@Hahntech10 ай бұрын
I have never published any videos based on the web version of Thinkorswim. The web version does not provide any degree of customization. That is why the desktop version of Thinkorswim is the focus of the video tutorials on this KZbin channel.

How are the charts linked? I always thought it was the stock symbol, but when I change the timeframe on the charts for example the daily versus a five minute, I think (not sure and the reason for the question) each timeframe has its own chart settings. I understand the difference between global and local chart settings as you explain that quite well, but I don't know how the hierarchy of the charts, time frames and stock symbols retains the relationship. Thank you
@Hahntech Жыл бұрын
On the current version of Thinkorswim, charts can only be linked according to ticker symbol. On other platforms, such as TradeStation, allow charts to be linked by time frame as well as ticker symbol. Let me know if that answered your question.
@jamesderosa8109 Жыл бұрын
@@Hahntech Thank you very much, that was a very informative series on how to use the chart. I think you answered my question because the top of the chart link is the symbol, so I’m guessing, although I’ll check, that the symbol will display the chart and the chart will include the styles and studies that are related to the symbol chart, correct?
@Hahntech Жыл бұрын
The link is tied to nothing more than the ticker symbol. You use that to synchronize your watchlists to your various charts. There is nothing else except the ticker symbol which is linked between charts. Drawing sets however, I a completely different matter and those will synchronize across your charts through an entire different setting.
@jamesderosa8109 Жыл бұрын
@@Hahntech that is exactly what I am trying to accomplish, I want all of my drawings to be on any of my time charts assuming the time charts are the same symbol, I think that’s what it does, but I’m still testing and learning
@Hahntech Жыл бұрын
Ok, got it. So this is the resource you need to learn how to use Drawing Sets: tlc.thinkorswim.com/center/howToTos/thinkManual/charts/Using-Drawings

To me it seems that the "predicted price range" question at 23:22 is referring to the setting you were showing at 18:54. Just a guess as I have never used that setting before.

On or about the 8:05 time frame you "telescope” in and out and pan up/down and left/right. Is this feature a think or swim or one of your video controlled feature? I would appreciate your response..
@Hahntech Жыл бұрын
That is a feature of the video editing tool I use. The idea is to help draw the viewer's attention to important elements on the screen to make it easier to follow along.

Hi, I am your old customer who have bought your app previously and benefited heartily from your great work. It seems you are running TOS on Mac. If true, could you comment on your hardware setup or specs? Many thanks.

Yep, sure thing. I’m currently using the MacBook Pro 16" with the M1 Pro Apple chip. I still haven’t found a way to push this thing hard enough to get the cooling fan to fire up.
