Bro grapes are being grown in southern Maharashtra like Solapur, Northern Karnataka like Vijayapura. In these areas farmers highly depend on drip irrigation. Since there is a good amount of sunshine throughout the year disease incidence is a bit low compared to areas where moisture is high say like western maharashtra. As far as I have seen farmers use a lot of pesticides since they don't care much about export even then they make around 5 lakh/acre/year . If you consider the local market for grapes it's highly volatile. I've seen farmers giving grapes to village people when the rates have fallen too low.

@@gshbdnn2521 I know Nashik that Nashik is famous for grapes. Solapur, Jath areas are also famous for grape cultivation. Of course the cost of cultivation is high but when you see the large picture, land holdings in these areas are high, hence cost reduces significantly when you grow in more acres. Only marginal farmers face the issue of low margins moreover medium and large scale are more involved in grape cultivation

As an Agri graduate perspective agriculture = stock market, former should have diversified farming and managing different crops(crop rotation ). Success is not the key ,consistent success is the key .(virat can have a bad day at his peak form). Farmer should think of long term to make consistant and scalable farm income. Farmers have a mentality is ' if it worked it will work again' but not in many case . Also seeds(varieties) play a major role and if we you fertizer more extensive it will after the soil fertility . Also I'm a huge fan of think school your team is doing great , It is a major field and agri science is a so vast for 1 episode .plz do more videos with agripreneurs.

(This is perfect episode for your channel theme about business, so not complaining but suggestion/ideas around founders goal /vision was to help farmers.) Also, in episode with beerbiceps you did mention about HINDI show, this is perfect material for that, Also i will expand your questions more than Maharashtra specially for agricultural heavy states like Punjab and Gujarat....Love all the stuff you doing Ganesh and Team :) keep growing.

thanks for the valuable podcast, ganesh anna (it gave me few new ideas , i have already started my venture in building bots for small farmers) BUT Farming is not as easy as 5 to 9 JOB . 1 factor affecting your crop (weather, water, soil, pest, deseases, labour blah blah blah blah blah.....) is enough to kill your confidence for 3 to 6 months (but job will give you dopamine every month) Farming is 50% of back breaking tasks (not even modern equipments solve it without drawbacks) 25% of experience (regardless if bharat agri gives inputs or not) depends on region to region, crop to crop. 20% learning & applying new techniques. 5% market luck (lottery, getting better price for the yield)

No taxes on farming is very complex thing, some exploit it some need it. Those who can exploit it earn very big from it. Bad for country's economy but cant do anything due to loopholes. Those who cannot exploit it are marginal, middle class or in debt trap. Some way should be there to tax in a good way farming as 80 cr people not taxed are getting benefits of 1.3Cr middle class people, middle upper class. People say India to be next China, China gets so many subsidies due to their policies, but here 30%tax on profit. Thats why people dont show full income declare losses. Negative income, at least above 15 lakh should be slashed to 25%. Over 10-15 Cr profit you may do that..

FACT : Only a few people can make farming efficient. Also people who are successful in farming are also selling their own crop by making products. Otherwise, the world wide truth is farming can't be profitable and all over the world farming is subsidised by the government. The government keeps farming alive just in case there is war, The country needs to produce its own food.

We are growing grapes from past 20 years in nashik and nowadays climate playing major role. Even in small quantity of rain in February and march which is harvesting period grapes will cracked. Second major problem is in October, November and December sometimes you have to beg labours specially for small farmers who doesn't have there own team of labours because this period is extremely important.
