I think “they still haven’t learned” was referring to black people. When Dee was reading the story there was something said that blood would have to be spilled. Yet Tic’s family left Christina alive. Black people always have mercy and forgiveness in their heart, especially for their oppressors and I think Dee isn’t gonna be one of those passive black ppl. She’s gonna be militant and will do what’s necessary to protect black people.

I took the part where Dee says "They still haven't learned" to be how the younger Black generation feels about their parents generation being too soft on Racist/Racist American culture. Like the feeling behind the t-shirts that say "This ain't your Mama's Civil Rights Movement" or "We are not our Parents, we will Beat your ass." "They" means Dee feels the adults/older generation who let Christina live haven't learned that Christina/White Supremacy will be a threat as long as Christina/White Supremacy are allowed to live. Undertones of that sentiment always seems to be a conversation between younger cousins and older aunties and uncles during our thanksgivings too.
@laborincana4490 Жыл бұрын
Dee didn't say that. Captions got it wrong. She said " you still haven't learned . Changes the whole meaning of the phrase.

In the finale Christina said something like "I used my blood, hair and nails in order to perform the metamorphosis spell to transform into William. Is something wrong?" Then Ruby was like "No, I'm just thinking about when you got that from me." So when Christina as William took Ruby to her house for the first time (episode 4) and when they were making out, Christina purposely got Ruby to cut her hand on the table they bumped into so she could get a piece of her blood. Lol Tic and Christina aren’t dead... every scene in this show has a meaning, the fact that the dead powerful spirits existed in the spirit world and were summoned until properly killed. Hence the reason they left Christina alive, she was powerless “on earth” and Dee comes in filled with hatred and killed her. Tic will be back and Christina will be summoned back probably by them to stop a greater evil, Christina wasn’t evil to the core. I’d love to know what her character was rated at in the ratings.

The reason why everybody really hates her is because she doesn’t put anything or anyone above her own agenda. She wanted immortality and she wouldn’t allow for nothing to stand in the way of that

@@christinaaguilera259 She's definitely the villain. The Green Book was primarily used in Northern States. It was "easy" to know where you were safe and where you were not in the South given Jim Crow and the "Whites Only" signs that were commonly plastered outside of establishments. I think Jiah’s purpose was to finish the spell, because Letty was still saying the spell out loud even when Christina was finished with hers. This way they finally had the piece of Christina they needed. Letty still saying the spell out loud speaks to her new found faith in Christianity. Even when they lost, she still had faith that they would come through. I expect Tic to be in the astral plane, because it was clear that his ancestors knew he would die no matter what. So we’ll see. I think that final scene with Dee shows her full transformation into someone who hates white people. It’s strongly foreshadowed when you see her crossing out the eyes of the two white men pictured at Bobo’s murder trial. Hard to blame her after everything that happened to her, her family, and her best friend, but if there is a season two I think it might explore the dangers of hating an entire race (even if that race is guilty of centuries of racism) and a thirst for vengeance against that race and how that might not be the right answer either. Also, I believe Christina wanted to keep her promise to Ruby even after Ruby betrayed her because she genuinely loved Ruby. She muttered the spell of invulnerability to resurrect Leti (after she threw her out of the window, which you see when Jiah is experiencing everyone’s memories at the end). It was probably the same way Christina saved Leti back in episode 2 - muttering the incantation after Leti dies to resurrect her. Christina must have figured she would have already completed her immortality spell by the time Leti woke up (which was true), but she didn’t realize Jiah would be able to help Leti’s spell to work even after she became immortal.

To be fair, Christina was really arrogant enough to think Ruby would betray her own family. Leti is still her sister and Ruby still wants to protect her. I don't think Christina actually loved Ruby, but rather favored her out of other black people she's interacted with. And the entire purpose of their relationship serves her true goal anyway. She sees black people as stepping stones, which is why she got samples of Ruby on the first night. She wanted sexual gratification from a black woman and the ability to use her likeness when necessary. She might think she loves Ruby, but this is clearly not love.

Christina didn’t lie about Ruby getting caught. It would make sense that Ruby told Christina or at least peeped her on what was going on due to the way she felt at the cemetery & her seeming unimpressed w/ whatever else Letti was going to tell her. Plus she wouldn’t have gave in easily for whole kumbaya joyride bs since she always feels used. So I could definitely see her helping or somewhat peeping Christina on what was going on. BUT at the same time Ji-Ah saw exactly what happened since her tail was connected to Christina to bind her & Tic for the spell to work so she was actually just caught unfortunately. That makes me curious about what Letti told Ruby to get her to change her mind.

I really love your breakdown but I felt that some points or characters were protected or depowered for plot purposes. Like Christina putting the invulnerability spell back on Leti, she put it back AFTER Leti fell from the silo and that surely can kill anyone or least gravely injured or at the very least have them miscarriage. It could be she said the spell as Leti was falling, but the scene is not edited that way, so I can't be too sure. It could be that once you get the spell it also heals you, but it was not stated before so I think it's a little sloppy. Its never stated how exactly a kumiho's powers work, so that fact that Ji-Ah did not use her before getting captured seems possible (although it would have been cool if she had used them). I also did not understand why Hippolyta did not bring any future with her just in case they needed to fight, her nephew is going to get murdered and her daughter is there as well, so oversight? Overall, it was an enjoyable finale, a little rush IMO, but it was by far one of the BEST SHOW I'VE SEEN, Misha Green should be proud and it's so great to see a woman of color be at the helm of a fantasy-science fiction story, such an inspiration. And a final thought: NOOOOOOO!!! Ruby! I really hope they did not kill her
@93abc1234 жыл бұрын
@@mtimadaniels270 thank you for explaining the Leti and Christina scene. Christina was the only good thing in the show (other than the mythos in general). She was objective but not malevolent. She never boasted or tried to flex on her "enemies" and she wasn't racist. she had a goal and people getting in her way.
