00:28 it's chord changes like that that creates a certain tension which pretty much devides the average songs from the great ones, very smart and musical. +In Thin Lizzy's case the dual guitar solos are a similar factor as well, those 2 qualities are what made them one of the greats.

RIP Phil, a true LEGEND that was too good, too talented and just too god like to be down here on Earth. Instead, he keeps the music in heaven banging! I just listened to Jeff Wayne's War Of The World's and Phil is just SO bloody good as the preacher. What an incredible voice he had, both singing and speaking. His portrayal of a shell-shocked preacher shows just how incredibly multi talented Phil truly was. That's real acting, a very, very convincing portrayal that really stands out as the best on that incredible album. He might not have lived very long (poor guy was only 36 when he passed, truly heartbreaking) but those years he lived left such an indelible mark on British music, with him still influencing untold numbers of musicians around the world!

I've seen Thin Lizzy, wow loads of times but sadly, I just missed Mr. Lynott. As he played in Chester, that is in England a place called Quaintways. A friend of mine Terry saw them several times and got on with Phil Lynott. So on these occasions, sat at the bar drinking Guiness with Mr. Lynott and talking about music, his very own words ' What a genuinley great bloke, we talked about music and bands until he had to go on' Maybe it's because of the Celtic connection as we both have rellies in Eire. Don't now. But what I've been told by a friend, Phil Lynott was a real top bloke. Sadly taken away from us, Keep on Rockin'.

16 here, and my dad introduced me to ‘whiskey in the jar.’ I really liked it so I started listening to all their other songs and I was actually surprised when I found out that they made this song too as I’ve heard it on a commercial. Now I’m literally obsessed with them and can’t stop listening to all of their songs! My favourites are mostly ‘whiskey in the jar’, ‘it’s only money’ and ‘jailbreak,’ and they’re probably in my most favourite top 10 songs of all time so far. I wish more young people like me would learn more about these underrated(?) bands and how much talent they had compared to now (no shade lol)! Good thing Bands like queen and Beatles are being more recognised among the younger generations though, and I hope it stays like that. Anyways, Thin Lizzy is awesome!!

With lyrics tense with a Springsteen-ish drama and multiple hooks - the legendary riff, the fist-punching chorus, the twin guitar solo from Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham to the chorus -fe with the smell of summer lawns and the memories of beach parties. No wonder the track was co-opted by Irish rugby teams, jeans companies and Bon Jovi.
