Thinning the Forest Near South Lake Tahoe

In the weeks before the #CaldorFire disrupted and threatened life in South Lake Tahoe, the #CCCTahoe Center was assisting our partners at the California Tahoe Conservancy prepare for wildfire. Tahoe Corpsmembers have spent years thinning trees in the wildland-urban interface. Creating shaded fuel breaks, clearing hazard trees, and removing fuel for wildfire. The work of CTC and our state and federal partners - including the CCC - helped protect South Lake Tahoe. This is how Corpsmembers help get the job done. #CaliforniaConservationCorps #CCCForestry
