Golden Gage is a very generous tree, but this year, the tree has produced too many plums, so thinning is necessary, because otherwise, next year you won’t get a good crop. Thin the plums by lifting the branch and cutting out some fruits so that those remaining hang as separate units, about 3-4 inches (7-10 cm) apart. Take out any plums that are damaged, or smaller than the others. Leave the stalk on the tree. Narration by Dan Neuteboom, camera by John Paddy. Read more at realenglishfruit.co.uk
