Hello Sal, I just wanted to thank you for the knowledge you take the time to share, your educational video's have helped me significantly to do tile projects successfully in my home, I am currently on my 4th home tiling project in the past 8 years and you are the one that made that possible. I am probably pickier than the average person, when I am out in public and see tile installation jobs with lippage and very irregular grout lines and poorly installed trim. I felt I did not want to pay some one to do such poor work. so felt doing it myself I will get the results I desire, although I am not to fast I am very happy with the finished project. thanks to you.

And I have an unrelated question that I'm hoping you can help me with: Can you recommend the best adhesive for 1/4 round pieces I wish to install along my shower wall/ledge? The foundation materials are composite base and aluminum trim/track for the glass enclosure.

Unless you’re tiling a shopping mall or something where every penny counts on the bid… for residential I buy the very best modified thinset the distributor stocks. the cost difference is peanuts in the overall job costs. And no-sag was a game-changer for me when I discovered it - that’s all I use on walls/ceilings now.

Great video thanks for sharing. My tub surround was tiled with 12x24 ceramic tiles and a regular versabond modified thinset from the box store. Would you be worried about tiles falling off the wall?

So Schluter says "any of their thinsets" for their applications. Woud you use Schulter Set or All Set for 12x24 Porcelain Tiles over Kerdi Board, and Ditra Heat on the floor?

do you ever use "100% solids epoxy adhesive"? Looks like Wedi is recommending that for small mosaic tiles in its shower system but I'm trying to find out if it's a necessity. They also recommend taking the mesh off the mosaics, but I know some people do this and some don't so maybe it's the same with the mortar recommendation?

Yes Wedi shower trays require epoxy mortar for small tiles, and epoxy grout.

We recently installed Bianco Carrara Hexagon tile on our shower floor bathroom. A couple of hours after the shower was turned on, it almost appears as if there is damming around the drain. The carrara tile remains darker for days after. I've done research and based of what I've found it looks like epoxy adhesive/mortar should have been used. Would you agree?

Epoxy thinset, silicone around the perimeter, epoxy grout and breathable sealer, for a sealed system, or a properly constructed Water in, water out shower system with a two stage drain. This is a known issue.
