same here.I m finishing up my ram Val aiche and it takes 1 pound 9 ounces so I took my true turn spinner hub to a machine shop had them make a replica of it but out of steel not alum. I should get the weight I need without using all that lead.

Hello do you still fly your zero do you any video of this
@flyingrcdotnet6 жыл бұрын
We eventually gave up this Zero. The Top Flite Giant Zero is a much better plane and there are lots if KZbin videos of those flying.

@@flyingrcdotnet did it fly afyer all the lead. Not all models are mean to be perfect. Thanks for your time
@flyingrcdotnet6 жыл бұрын
It needed every bit of the lead as do most planes with such a short nose. They bulls eyed the "not perfect" thing with this plane.

I'm new to gas planes and I notice you use many battery's. How do you set them up to get the right Volts without burning up IGN- and for your radio.
@flyingrcdotnet8 жыл бұрын
I only use two batteries that power everything. The receiver is built to take two 7.4V LiPo packs and deliver the right voltage to the high voltage servos and the ignition BEC.

Bugger! I never thought that a fiberglass model would be that difficult to balance. I,m guessing thats the price you pay to get the scale look right. what did it way when you finished...i,m guessing enough to through your back out...lol
@flyingrcdotnet9 жыл бұрын
+racarb As we said in the story on my site, the plane weighed 20lbs all up without gas. A lot of the balance problem comes from the long fiberglass tail and short nose section. Most of these model makers just don't want to lengthen the nose over the scale dimensions so the plane looks right.

+thintz12 thanks for your reply. I'm looking at building a corsair in fibreglass so it's good to get a heads up in what to expect.

+racarb When I decided on the Zero for this build I looked around on some of the giant scale forums to see what build issues people were having. One that appears to be a constant with warbirds is the need to put a bunch of weight up front. Throughout the build of my Zero I kept stuffing everything I could as far forward as I could to minimize the weight I'd need to ad later. I even put on a 6 1/2 ounce prop hub. It scares me to think of how much weight I would have needed without moving everything I could forward.
