42:48 Conjure with my name and I shall appear. :P The War of the Ring was 3018-3019, mainly 3019, so given the year in the screen is 2984, that would be about 35 years in the future. The Easterlings attacked Dale in March 17 3019, and during the three day battle, Dale was sacked and razed (again), with the Dalians retreating to the Lonely Mountain. In a rear-guard action, King Brand died before the gates of Erebor, and King Dain died trying to protect Brand's body. After the news of Sauron's defeat reached Erebor, the Easterlings were demoralized, and a sally out of Erebor by Bard II and Thorin III Stonehelm routed the Easterlings.

I like the introduction it reminds me how intros were like the first time I seen a star wars let's play. And how you have your own battle loding screen. Dale was one of the most popular place back in the day when the lord of mordor corrupted the king with one of the rings. Dale also worked for the dark lord for 20 years till the Prince and the people rebelled against the corrupted king.

You need to clear out the rebels in your lands there are patches of devastation on the map from rebel armies and this devestation also reduces your income of your settlements depending upon how large the rebel army is
@anarionelendili89614 жыл бұрын
32:45 The trick to understanding the Financial Overview is that it is book-keeping. It takes your Treasury at the start of the turn (i.e. before you spend any money) and then calculates all the income and expenditure. The profit is simply income-expenditure, and the Treasury Total is Old Treasury + Profit. You can see this in 31:53, where you have 2448 Treasury and Profits 1806 = Projected Treasury 4254. However, I think the Construction is actually calculated 'wrong', since it seems to be included in to the expenses when they finish building, not when you queue them up... That is why you had 3600 Construction expense that you had already paid, so: 872 (current treasury) - 1717 (profit) + 3600 (already paid construction that needs to be taken out) = 2755 Projected Treasury, which matches. The main thing is that the Projected Treasury is correct: it will tell you how much gold you will have in your treasury at the start of the next turn.

Bit late to the party here, but better late than never i guess? Dale is one of my favourite factions. Well rounded, not OP, challenging for a noob like me, and many different ways to go. Gonna watch the rest of the series asap!
@throl4o4 жыл бұрын
First public health building (Herbalist in your case) gives 0.5 pop growth for every faction becouse of the health bonus to the settlement so it is good to get it early in villages to help growth. Ha also Mordor is England in the game files so your grog comment about Mordor was funnily enough correct.
@anarionelendili89614 жыл бұрын
I am a bit worried that you might be turtling a bit too much. Don't get me wrong, Dale pretty much has to do that in order to get the economy booming, but it does mean that Dorwinion is probably getting hammered by Rhun and Dol Guldur both. You can help to turn the tide if you get involved. The longboat you have is very good at ferrying reinforcements from Laketown and Dale to the Sea of Rhun. Especially if you pump out enough ships to establish naval supremacy over the Lake, blockading Rhun's ports and the like. Against Dol Guldur, the boats are less useful, although it might still save you a turn or so vs. walking south. Generally, I like to go against Rhun, first, with the idea of double-teaming them with Dorwinion. The issue is that if you leave Rhun alone, they usually defeat Dorwinion, and thus are a monster in late game, having good troops and a booming economy thanks to the Sea of Rhun. Hammering them early prevents that. By contrast, Dol Guldur is usually stalemated for quite some time by the elves (both Wood Elves and Lothlorien) as well as the Anduin Vale. Even in late game, their units are not that great, and they don't have the same economic powerhouse that Rhun has. But it is your game. If you want to strike hard and Dol Guldur and get them out of the game soonest, that helps Dorwinion too, since they can then focus on Rhun. But attacking Rhun would no doubt help them more, as well as let you seize a piece of that sweet, sweet Sea of Rhun trade.
@IzzyTotalWar4 жыл бұрын
Good points! I will be more agressive in episode 2. Taking the Sea of Rhun early on might make the campaign a complete cakewalk though...
@anarionelendili89614 жыл бұрын

With the rise of a new King, would so too rise the Kingdom of Dale from the ashes that still linger of the Terrible’s infernal breath, and so too the Orcs of Gundabad. Ambitious, bold and clever, King Bain, son of Bard the Dragon Slayer, was not blind to the state of his realm, the economy in tatters and with the threat of the Heathen Easterlings on the far horizon even if halted by Dorwinion. But Bain knew his nation’s strengths, the Celduin could provide wealth beyond imagining as it’s reach stretched all the way to Rhovanion, Dorwinion and the Sea of Rhûn, and the alliance with the Elves of Mirkwood and more importantly the Dwarves of Erebor still as strong and lasting as stone, and the land around them was ripe for the taking, especially in Rhovanion, which were ruled by divided and squabbling Lords and equally competitive Bandits. His first act was to increase communication between his Barons and Earls, for their seemingly age old grievances with each other were so numerous that if each were made a soldier, it’d obliterate every army in the world. He ordered the construction of Meeting Halls, so that they could talk and come to terms with their gripes with each other, as well as providing a place for them to meet for matters of rulership and important issues, including war. As well as the building of a Grain Exchange, to attempt to at least decrease the rate of economic deterioration. Prince Brand, son of Bain, who held sway over Dale’s strongest army in a fort on the banks of the Redwater, asked of his father in distant Dale that he march to expand Dale’s domain into lands east of the River. Permission was eagerly granted and so did he march upon the independent town of Bûrh Marhlinge and put it to siege, with the battle that ensued when the men inside sallied out was decisive, and the town was easily conquered. Back in the city of Dale, Bain was hard at work building up his capital and surrounding territories, such as Esgaroth, whose charred wounds have mostly been reduced to merely battle scars, with the aid of a newly hired architect from Gondor, planning to rebuild and construct a great system of roads that’ll connect the land and aid trade in the land. The following years came without event, Bain continued to build up both in economy, civilian and military and finally stabilise the economy, the great roads on the west side of the Long Lake constructed and no conquests were made. Dale appeared to sleep, and Bain was more then happy. The Easterlings of Rhûn appeared on the border to Bûrh Marhlinge, yet they’ve made no attempt to attack, for they were expanding yet not wanting war just yet with the likes of Dale or Dorwinion. Brand still had his hand on pommel however, if the Easterlings were bold enough to cross the border into the realm of Dale. So far, Brain’s reign has led to rebuilding, stabilisation, economic growth and slight expansion. So far, peaceful, yet how long he has been graced with this is to be seen.

Yeah, TUC is definitely a thing across Europe. As for cram, here is what they said in the Hobbit: "(If you want to know what cram is, I can only say that I don’t know the recipe; but it is biscuitish, keeps good indefinitely, is supposed to be sustaining, and is certainly not entertaining, being in fact very uninteresting except as a chewing exercise. It was made by the Lake-men for long journeys.)" TUC at least tastes salty (at least the variants I am familiar with).
